Gossip Stone: Will Future Zelda Games Feature Instruments?

Musical instruments have played a huge part in many Zelda games, from the famous Ocarina of Time to the violin and harp of The Windwaker. While each instrument plays a unique part, they all provide some of the most beautiful melodies that can easily captivate anyone who listens to them.

In my opinion this has an easy answer: of course the future of Zelda will feature instruments. I doubt any instrument will be as significant as the Ocarina of Time, but the series does a great job at creating instruments that give great power while also providing a soothing musical experience. The instruments add a unique majestic feel to the game that just makes the Zelda series more enjoyable.

With that being said, I can’t imagine the series using a wide variety of instruments such as a guitar, trumpet, or drums. I feel the instruments really have to have a certain sound to them to fit the Zelda series, which explains why a harp is used in both The Windwaker and Oracle of Seasons, and a flute-like instrument is used in Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess.
