(CLOSED) Gossip Stone (Digital eGuide Giveaway!): Should Nintendo Make a Second Hyrule Historia?
Posted on November 16 2015 by Jon Lett
It has been some time now since it was released, but let’s be honest. Hyrule Historia had some of the biggest impact on the series in years. Theories about past titles, and the upcoming Zelda Wii U keep popping up with evidence taken from the book, the timeline revealed in the book keeps getting updated, and there was loads of concept artwork that still gets talked about today. It was a great item, but is there room for another? When might we expect a second volume, if ever?
By the way, one of our staff members recently ordered the Collector’s Edition Tri Force Heroes Prima Guide, and they are offering up the digital eGuide it came with, so you guys have a chance to win it! If you want to know every little detail and secret of the newest Zelda title, make sure to enter!
The giveaway is now closed! The winner is: Kieroni
Check out the details, and join the discussion, after the jump!
We only have one eGuide to give away, and it will let you unlock the full eGuide through Prima’s site. It is mobile friendly, so itf you are on the go with your 3DS and need a tip, you can get the guide on your phone, too. At 2:00pm Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, November 22nd, we will be taking all the names of all commenters up to that point, and randomly picking two to be given the codes.
REMEMBER: We will be sending the winners the codes through emails, so please make sure to leave a valid email address IN YOUR COMMENT, along with your response. The emails you use to comment with Disqus are not visible to us, so if you do not put an email in your comment, you will not be entered to win the code. If you do not feel comfortable revealing your personal email, making a throw-away email address that you use for this giveaway only and then dispose of later is simple. If you are selected, you will receive an email from my gmail account soon after the contest’s closing.
Hyrule Historia is interesting in that it is different from pretty much any other piece of Nintendo merchandise. Few game series in the world are detailed and extensive enough to warrant a whole book of that type being written about them. And Historia didn’t even cover every last thing about the series. There is more to cover, more questions to be answered, and more games to explain once they come out. I would absolutely love to see another book made, to sit alongside my current book, which already sits proudly at the head of my shelf of Zelda collectibles. I mean really. An updated timeline, more concept art, more untold details of past games – there would be no shortage of material to put in. Plus, there are brand new things they could use. New comics, developer interviews, unused beta content, retrospectives on special events and anniversary celebrations throughout the years, and more. There could easily be another book made in the future, as Zelda will likely never stop presenting interconnecting stories and extensions to the existing timelines. And come on. If they made another, Nintendo would make a killing. Easily. I know I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Do you want another volume of Hyrule Historia? Once enough new games come out, would it be worth it? Drop a comment below by 2:00pm Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, November 22nd, and you might win an eGuide!
