Shortly after the release of the final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo confirmed what fans have suspected since the game’s first teaser — Ganondorf is officially back.
“Do not look away. You witness a king’s revival…and the birth of his new world.”

The latest trailer gave us glimpses of Ganondorf de-mummifying, but this is our first look at the Demon King in all his rehydrated glory. While it’s yet to be confirmed, it seems very likely the menacing voice we hear near the end of the trailer is none other than that of Ganondorf.
His design is beautiful. I love the incorporation of Breath of the Wild-style Gerudo dress. It’s something new for Ganondorf, feeling more cultural than his previous designs, which were more warrior and king-like. I think his attire also raises the question of whether or not this is a Ganondorf we’ve seen before or not. I’m on the side that it’s a new incarnation, and not the first, as Ganondorf has reincarnated before.
Nintendo Japan’s interactive website also uploaded key art featuring the Triforce trio of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf.
What do you think of Ganondorf’s design? Are you as filled with excitement to see him in Tears of the Kingdom as I am? Let us know in the comments below!

After what felt like an eternity of waiting for Tears of the Kingdom, John looks forward to the future of the Zelda franchise with enthusiasm, whether that’s the upcoming movie, a new spin-off/remake, or the next big game.
