GameXplain: Twilight Princess HD Trailer Analysis

After Nintendo dropped the Twilight Princess HD trailer in the most recent Nintendo Direct, many people started analyzing nothing more than the new graphics, and that mostly ended with people saying that they were no different. Thankfully, GameXplain took the time to look at nearly every detail possible in the trailer, from the new HUD, to the possible similarities with The Wind Waker HD, to the inevitable examination of the graphics.

I must say, I am glad that many of the old textures in the game are being replaced, rather than just having a higher resolution. It shows that Nintendo is actually putting in the effort to fix a lot of little things that the original version had to deal with due to technological restraints. Looking at the graphical comparisons, I can’t help but think that since the game was so fun when it first released, most of us did not even notice how incredibly blurry the game actually was. Now, though, the character models and background textures look great, and I can’t wait to see the more aesthetically impressive areas like the Goron Mines and the Twilight Realm.
I also can’t wait to see the new system of item and map management that this game will undoubtedly inherit from The Wind Waker HD. I still believe that the gamepad is one of the best things to ever happen to Zelda, as it is so much better than pausing every time to switch items and such, and it is even faster than Twilight Princess’ original item switching. Controls are an extremely important thing to get right in my eyes, but I think Nintendo will do it right in this game.
What do you guys think of the new trailer’s finer details? What little tweaks should Nintendo make to the original game? Drop a comment!
