gamesTMlogo.jpgA lot like Edge magazine, games™ is renowned for being somewhat harsh, but fair with their review scores – that is, generally speaking, they have got some pretty decent video game reviewers working within the publication, and they know their stuff. And after Edge had given The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword the glorious perfect score that we’d all been hoping for, we could only assume that other major publications would follow suit. And now, games™ has awarded Skyward Sword with a 9/10.

While some may view this score as somewhat low for the Zelda series, it’s worth recognising that the format for reviewing games at games™ does not partake in the use of decimal points – so, it was never likely that the game was going to receive a 9.8 from the magazine.

What this means however, is that games™ had given Skyward the same score as they had awarded to RAGE and Metroid: Other M… is Skyward Sword really on the same level as these games? Hmm, opinions, opinions. What we can deduce from this score is that the reviewer felt as though Skyward Sword is really something amazing – however, there were a few minor flaws in holding it back from the perfect score that the game received elsewhere. As well, remember that every reviewer’s tastes are different, and, well, when you think about it, there’s really nothing wrong with a nice wholesome nine anyway. It’s better than an eight, right? Or an eight-point-eight if your name is GameSpot and you’re reviewing Twilight Princess. Yeah, I went there.

We don’t actually have any major quotes or scans of the review itself, apart from the tagline: “playing the Wii out in style,” whatever that means. Don’t stress though, we’ll let you know when we get the goods.
