GameOver Jesse Discusses Zelda U Timeline Placement

Speculation about the upcoming Zelda game for the Wii U has been rampant, since even before its reveal at E3 2014. With the recent announcement that the game will be delayed, the speculation, theorizing, and predictions are bound to continue even longer than we originally expected. One of the most common topics of debate is where exactly Zelda U will fit in the Zelda timeline. Some have speculated it’s a prequel or sequel to 2011’s Skyward Sword (that seems to be the most popular theory). Connections have been made to link Zelda U to Wind Waker and its DS sequels, mostly due to Link‘s clothing in the new game. Others have speculated that Zelda U will take place in a brand new timeline, freeing itself from previous games.

He uses compelling evidence to support each theory, and also speculates on gameplay possibilities that make each spot in the timeline a good fit for the game.
