Game Trailers Provides Evidence that The Wind Waker and Majora’s Mask Were Once on the Same Timeline

For those unaware, the official timeline that was released in 2011 had The Wind Waker on the adult timeline and Majora’s Mask on the child timeline. This is an important distinction today, because Game Trailers did some digging and discovered that The Wind Waker has several connections to Majora’s Mask and some of them are not just necessarily mere easter eggs. Be sure to watch the entire video feature to get a real grasp. There are things such as two in-game text references to events that transpired in Majora’s Mask and evidence suggesting that Ganondorf’s own swords were crafted by the blacksmiths in the game. This is ignoring the fact that a handful of the masks for the game are also hanging on a wall, something you could argue is a mere easter egg, but in context with everything else, makes a lot of sense.
Of course Game Trailers won’t go as far as to say that yes, these games are linked… but the evidence is fairly overwhelming. What do you think? Personally, I’ll be exploring our The Wind Waker Walkthrough and our Majora’s Mask 3D Walkthrough trying to dig for more connections.
