Zelda's Mother

in the legend of zelda series we know the royal family lives within hyrule castle and the 2 most know to live their are zelda and her father but what ever happened to her mother

its very hard to know since Nintendo never mentioned it but i believe it could of been that her mother had to leave hyrule for some reason after her birth or she could of possibly died when zelda was born because of some disease or something

I've never bothered to delve deeper into why Zelda's mother is never seen in any of the Zelda games. With Link we receive confirmation that his mother passed away prior to Ocarina of time but the same cannot be said for the princess of Hyrule.

But does Zelda even have human parents? Recall that Zelda's first appearance in Skyward Sword served as a physical vessel for the goddess Hylia. Perhaps it's a similar story as with Jesus Christ-Joseph was a father in name only, an earthly caretaker-as the king of Hyrule seems to be.

Truth be told, I also believe it's better players are never exposed to Zelda's mother since the developers over at Nintendo are overwhelmingly male and would be unable to characterize her appropriately. Zelda herself had never been a particularly invigorating character until Ninty recently made moves to turn this trend around in Spirit Tracks and Skyward Sword.

Miyamoto just has a thing for single, opposite sex parents.

Or maybe just broken families in general.

How many actual, full, together families are there in Zelda?

Because her mother would be Zelda and then we'd have two Zeldas and then it'd just be weird.
