Zelda's Diary- The 7 Years

I'm ditching my fan-fic and starting a new one! I always wanted to know what happened to Zelda during the 7 years that Link was in the Sacred Realm other than parading around as Sheik, so I'm sharing her first two diary entry during the 7 years Link was stuck in the Sacred Realm.

Dear Diary, 7 years until Link comes back

Today, Impa and I stopped in Kakariko Village for the horses to rest. She said it was not safe for me to go outside anymore, so she booked a room in the inn and told me to never come outside until Link comes back. SEVEN YEARS! I begged Impa just to disguise me, but she wouldn't budge. I was heart broken. I could never be cooped up in a room for seven years. Now that Father is dead, Impa was the only person who would take care of me, so I obeyed, but that doesn't stop me from getting to the outside world. I planed to dig a small enough hole that only I and I only can get through. I think I should put it behind my bed, so Impa wouldn't notice.

Dear Diary, 6 years and 364 days until Link comes back

All day long, I was working on the hole. Impa was out sword training. I wish I could train with Impa. I wish for fresh air, instead of breathing musty dirt. I wish... for this nightmare to be over and for everything to be the same and Ganondorf was not alive. But I know that's not going to happen. I know because this is reality.

A diary, huh? Not bad, Panda, not bad, although I do prefer reading fan fics as stories. This is not bad, I like the diary style and you hardly make any typos, so all is good in the hood.

Today, Impa was getting really suspicious about the hole, so I just did some cooking, but I burned the bread and almost set the inn on fire! It was so scary! But the past few days have been restless. Everything seems so sad and dreary. It has been raining since we got here. I wonder if the Goddess are sad...

I like it a lot, but I have a few suggestions. One, I really think that you should lengthen the diary entries. I feel that since Zelda is cooped up all the time, I feel she can write a longer piece. Two, try and make Zelda sound more sophisticated. Remember, in the game end and beginning, Zelda was very wise, smart, and sophisticated. Overall, I like it a lot. I just want to read more than four or five lines.

There's actually an online comic like this, though there's only like 5 issues and they haven't made a new one in a while.

I really don't think anything happens until she finishes the hole, so I'm just putting in some filler for now.

Today, a Gerudo group came to find me and haul me to Ganondorf. I hid in the hole. (which, is a burrow according to Impa if she knew about it) Impa was out training (again) and nobody else was anywhere near the inn. I waited until the Gerudos gave up looking, which I suspect was 3 hours. My legs are still cramped and my dress is dirty, so weirdly, Impa didn't ask any questions and bought me a new one. I wonder if Impa knows about the burrow... After these events, I think Impa will just disguise me.

It is considered that us writers are often the greatest critics of our own work. I do not find anything particularly wrong with you're writing, in fact I find it pretty good.
However, if you plan on starting from scratch, then look at you're older work and compare it to you're newer writing. If you really believe yourself to be horrible (which I don't think so) then you're writing should look different from the last time. Take any mistakes from you're older stuff and make something better.
We writers are always improving, and that is what makes us writers... awesome! Just make sure to be a less harsh critic on yourself.

I agree with Charge. Being a writer does not mean you have it all figured out, you make improvements as you go on, and you learn from mistakes. I hope you reconsider, because your writing is not terrible. But, as I am doing myself, I am putting a new story together that will pit those other ones I did not finish. Sometimes you have to, you don't write a good story in your first attempt.

Well, the thing is I always have new ideas, so I'm ditching this temporally and starting new fan fics, trust me, I have like 4 other stories I'm working on, so I'll go back to this one some day...

Lol. That is what I said about those others I wrote. And no, I aint going back to them, I could, but I really can't, have some personal reasons. So I started anew and with many of those old ideas refurbished. I do hope you come back to it though, don't give up.
