Shadsie
Sage of Tales
What I mean is - characters from other propertities, other games, TV series, movies, anime, etc.
I've just beaten Skyward Sword and the more I think about Ghirahim, the more and more he reminds me of Legato Bluesummers of the anime and manga series Trigun.
This isn't just because Trigun was my fandom obession before I got into LoZ. Ghirahim REALLY reminds me of Legato.
I do not know of any still-functional Trigun fansites, so the best I can find for a profile for Legato is his Wikipedia entry (with a big fat spoiler for Trigun if you read it) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legato_Bluesummers#Legato_Bluesummers and his TV Tropes entry (this link will probably take you to the general Trigun character list - but he's the first entry under "Major Villains" ) http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/Trigun - here's his picture from the main site: http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bluesummers.JPG
Why do I see Ghirahim and Legato as alike?
First, look at the picture. Both have that fashionable "hair hiding half the face" thing going on. They also have somewhat effiminate faces attatched to muscular bodies (Legato doesn't show it in the Trigun anime, but in the manga, he's ripped). Both have a hatred for the human race (unlike Ghirahim, who is a demon, Legato actually is a human had hates himself for it accordingly), both have some insanely powerful psychic abilities (Ghirahim being able to force Link back during one of the latter cutscenes of Skyward Sword, Legato has telekintic abilities - and this weird puppeteer-thing in the manga), both are utterly devoted to serving "higher being" masters and both are complete and utter sadists. (Ghirahim loves to go over the finer points of torture while Legato uses his telekinesis to force people to kill themselves/each other in a variety of gruesome ways). Oh, and both wish eternal suffering onto the heroes of their respective worlds.
Apparently, I'm not the only one to see the similiarities. A friend of mine whom I met in Trigun fandom who's also a huge Zelda fan (my co-writer on my longest fan fiction) said "You, too?!" when I mentioned the Legato/Ghirahim connection in my brain.
So, do any LoZ characters remind you of anyone you've "met" in another series?
