The console itself is hideous. I mean, seriously ugly.

Agreed, but I mean who buys a console to look at it?

The console itself is fine. Looks like its got a good amount of horsepower under the hood and I'm excited for it. Name aside, it seems like the next logical step forward. I personally wouldn't mind all my entertainment in one place (I must be one of the weird ones who likes convenience, right?).

But it comes with it though... It's like *****ing about a console not working without a controller. Its part of the package when you buy it. Why is this a bad thing?

It's a peripheral that few if any people will support. You've seen the Wii. You've seen PSMove. You've seen Kinect1.0. You cannot be serious about this.

AT LEAST the Wii U gamepad serves a purpose with its touch screen, a purpose that is only messed up by a smudge on your screen. Voice commands? Yeah no.

I like convenience, too. My Smartphone is my all-in-one, and people used to complain about phone's trying to do everything but now everyone has a Smartphone. ;) The Xbox's features, like Snap, seem to let it be quite the multimedia entertainment device without impacting on the games, so I'm happy for that. I mean, I was one of the people who got a PS3 first because I wanted a Blu-ray player too! :D My PS3 was just a blu-ray player for ages...

I understand it so far as if it becomes damaged, replacing it will suck. These video games companies bleed you dry with their peripheral prices (especially Microsoft, yes).
But the fact that I can just sit on my chair and say a voice command turning on my game console is a great thing. I don't even need to reach for the remote to change the tv input, I can just say a voice command.

Now, I agree, that I don't want Kinect to be a major part of my actual gaming (I don't want to be moving my hands and **** for Halo 5, or Assassins Creed), but having the option to navigate menus, and inputs with voice is fine.

Pro: The Controller design looks quite comfortable in my opinion and isn't ugly which is always good.
Pro: The 500GB Hard Drive kind of smashes the 32GB one on my Wii U in comparison, however you are required to download all games to the HD and these games will probably be large files so I wonder how long the 500GB will last for hardcore gamers.
Pro: More entertainment is a good thing, you don't have to use it if you don't want it but it is there for those that do want it I guess.
Pro: It apparently doesn't sound like an aeroplane engine while running.

Meh: Kinect always being connected is slightly annoying, as long as they don't force you to actually use it then it's not too much of a problem though.
Meh: The console looks really dull, just like a set top box. Not really a massive problem though.

Con: Xbox Live is still not free, sure some people think it is worth it but it isn't a good thing.
Con: The name will be confused as making the console sounding inferior to the 360. Wii U is a pretty bad name too though.
Con: Lack of backwards compatibly gives people that never had a 360 even less of a reason to buy the console.
Con: Pre-owned game fee. This is the one thing that is the worst and will stop many people from picking up an XBOX ONE console.
- Not everyone can afford new games, this would mean you would have to buy it from a store then pay again through the console.
- This is the kind of thing that kills video game specialist retailers, they make most of their profits on preowned sales. If I was a retailer like EB Games I'd consider not stocking the console that was going to screw me over.
- No more renting video games (self explanatory).
- You can't borrow games from a friend without paying the fee anymore.
- The actual fee will probably be really high (possibly retail), otherwise people could just install the game to their Hard Drive and then sell it and keep their copy on their Hard Drive.
- Apparently you can play the game on your account at a friends house for free though (Source).
- What happens in 20-30 years when the XBOX ONE is retro, and the servers are all shut down? How will we play these now "retro" games if we didn't get them while we could?

I won't be picking one up.

Well, I see potential problem with voice command, because what if you're having a conversation with someone which includes some of those commands, I can imagine a funny, but somewhat frustrating situation, especially if say someone is using the console while someone else is talking in the background. It would be like the time I was watching a movie while testing out my new color-changing lamp. Unknowingly to me the lamp's remote controller and the DVD player's remote controller shared the exact same frequency so as I was changing colors and brightness on the lamp strange things started happening on the TV, like weird menues started to appear on the screen and such.

Can't play games if you don't have internet when you install them.
Sure the always on DRM isn't there, but you are required to have internet available to play any game on it at all.

Raise your hands if you won't buy with me.

And the name sucks. Plain and simple. I always called the first Xbox the "Xbox 1" just to avoid confusion, and now it'll be confusing as ever.

I know right?

more edit:

I can't consider paying for xbox live as a con, don't get me wrong I like free things. But xbox live actually had better servers and in most games except for unpopular ones / semi discontinued games. Such as the current call of duty games on the xbox servers almost never had lag, put them on the PS3 and bam laggy servers. So while not having to pay for the online is nice, being able to play the latest shooter on reliable servers makes up for it.

This is a true waste of your money. OHH THE EXCLUSIVES, to hell with the exclusives. Whatever Xbox One is offering, I guarantee you can find better on the, yknow BETTER consoles PS4/Wii U, or even better PC. Besides, Xbox One will surely cost you about the price of a PC anyway, so opt in for PC.

I respect the ideas of Steam gamers and PC game overlords, but I simply cannot join such the dark side (I'm a Jedi). By getting a PC for gaming, you force yourself away from the best developers and ideas. Steam seems like a way to just enjoy some games, but I enjoy the entire Nintendo franchises and everything they churn out; both the 3DS ( which has a variety of uses due to its portability), and the Wii U with its unique Nintendo games.

This may be off-topic, but I think Microsoft is dooming themselves by failing to see the magic and unique possibilites of a gaming console. Sony and Nintendo can do amazing things with their franchises and developers, but Microsoft has next to no IP's. This convoluted TV gimmick will only doom them in the long run if they leave games and franchises behind.

Not sure if you knew this, but the current Microsoft operating systems have voice commands built in too. You can say 'Stop listening' for it to stop taking voice commands (allowing you to have a conversation) or 'Start listening' to turn the voice commands back on. I assume Kinect 2.0 will have a similar feature.
Neat, huh?

When I buy something that's going to sit in plain view to whoever is in my house, I want it to at least look decent. That just looks like a square, black piece of poop.
I'm sure you can buy some Hello Kitty decals for it then. Make it look all nice. Put it in a flower bed too. All nice and pretty for people to look at :)

Definitely. I want more IPs. More 1st party exclusives. Microsoft has been doing terrible in recent years as far as 1st party studios are concerned and relying on paying out 3rd party developers for timed exclusives is not feasible in the long run.

If you can turn voice commands on with a voice command, wasn't it was already on...
