4 pages worth of discussion already wow wow wee wa, I think I'll just give my opinion on it.
I'm disappointed myself, I personally was hoping for something a little juicey, even if it is small. For instance I really love how Nintendo and Sony have implemented community features like the miiverse and the the PS4s share button. Small but I thought it was something good to bring to a console. It seems like they are really trying a little too hard to describe the machine and making it sound like it does something new, when in reality it doesn't.
It remains a games machine at heart, but Microsoft's broader aim was clear: to make the Xbox an all-in-one entertainment solution
Well congrats but you managed to do that last generation along with the PS3 and even the Wii managed. Any device with an internet connection nowadays is great for watching TV on. This is why I feel it's best to focus on what a console is supposed to do. No one is going to be buy a console because it can play netflix. Especially now with the influx of smart tvs that also have all these media capabilities. So really the xbox is left with one pro, it can play video games.
The Xbox One is a real advancement, one that will transform the way we experience TV, games, music, movies and more.
Because of voice commands I guess... :S Voice commands are cool I suppose but it always felt tacky to me, most people are more than happy to push a few buttons, unless they really have the voice recognition perfect this time.
A "snap mode" similar to Microsoft Windows 8 experience allows users to run two activities – such as watching TV and browsing the internet, or using Skype – simultaneously. It offers a second screen.
With the examples above I can't really see that being useful.
Anyway I think it's really silly when game consoles try to be these all in one devices when the monitors themselves these days come with those same capabilities. Right now this really doesn't look that appealing to me. Although we will see what happens later on.
On the subject of the name I find it odd that they went with Xbox one, as you all know our brains just love big numbers (comon how many post count blogs have we got) To market something you often want a bigger number, to look less inferior , that's why I thought they went with the name 360. As Xbox 2 doesn't sound as impressive as the PS3. Sometimes I do wonder if microsoft are trying to hurt themselves, they certainly have made some odd decisions this past decade. We can only see what the future holds.
P.s I'm tired that's why this post is everywhere and baaad, after all making posts is rocking science!
