I'd buy it and play it just for old times sake, that is, if they actually release it. Them releasing main stream Pokemon Games on the VC is near to unlikely.

I have been hoping they would put R/B on the VC for a while, especially after I went to a flea market and found a blue version which was corrupt and I found out it couldn't save after 3 hours of playing it.
