Wind Waker - Piece of Heart #7

So, believe it or not this is my first complete play-through of Wind Waker. I started playing it a long time ago, but only got as far as Forest Haven. Now I'm about 3/4 through the game and retrieving some of the treasure chests and pieces of heart that I haven't gotten thus far, such as Piece of Heart #7 by Five-Star Isle.

When I first sailed to the island, there was one glowing spot on the SE side of the Isle just as the walk through stated. As well there were three glowing spots in the center of the Isles. I sailed up to the spot but immediately had to defend against the Kargaroc. When I finally dropped the grappling hook, nothing came up. I shifted the boat, still nothing. I cruised away and turned to come back and the glowing spot vanished along with the others. Now I can't seem to find it at all and the glowing spots are gone. Did I miss something or does it have to be a certain time of the day?

BTW, I'm playing the original GameCube version if that makes a difference.

I believe that there is a specific chart that will reveal glowing rings in the sea. But in this case i don't think you had the relevent chart for it if it hasn't appeared

Some of the light rings only appear in day/night if I recall, so test that out first. Do you have the treasure chart for this specific Heart Piece though?

I was pretty sure I have the chart for it because it was glowing when I first approached the Isles. Now it isn't glowing anymore. I know the glowing stops when you're over it, but even from a distance it doesn't glow anymore.

The Piece of Heart will be far easier to find if you have the chart for it. Light Rings that have their corresponding Treasure Charts unlocked will produce a tall beam of light instead of the usual light ring, and that's how you know that you have the chart for that ring (Remember to always activate your Treasure Charts upon receiving them or this will not work). Approach it, then look on the Treasure Chart for yourself (if you're close enough, you'll be a yellow arrow on the chart). Then look at the chart to see when you're next to the X, then use your grappling hook. I'm not 100% sure if you can find the Heart Piece without first finding the chart, so it's best to get that first anyway..

The chart required is number 33, which is found on Windfall Island. Take a pictograph of the girl in front of the Potion Shop (be sure to get her full body in the shot or it won't work) and then show her the pictograph you took of herself. She'll give you the Treasure Chart required, then you can return to five-star-isle and get the Piece of Heart.

The beams stop glowing when you get close to them. At that point, you have to rely on looking at your treasure chart to know when you're lined up. If you're close enough to it, you should hear a strange sound.

Okay that I guess I missed that chart. Shouldn't I still be able to get the chest though even if I'm where it's supposed to be?

In theory, yes, but I'm not actually sure if you need the chart to get it or not. Regardless, it's probably good to get it just in case, so you know exactly where the heart piece is.

Well it definitely helped The walkthrough I was following (which was not ZD) was doing tasks out of order and it was of the HD version. I thought I had the treasure chart for it but turns out I didn't!

Thanks for the help guys! Now if I can just figure out how to beat the stupid turrets.
