I personally never believed that Termina was a fantasy world.

And... yeah, Link would have to be a pretty twisted individual to dream up a place like Termina and all the events that happen there. Been in the bottom of the well or not, I doubt he's that messed up.

1. Because he was turning into a Stalfos and going insane.
2. Break up? What do you mean? He got them back together.
3. Because he was going insane.
4. Because he was going insane.
5. Because he was going insane.
5-7. Maybe he always wondered what it would be like being a different species.
Almost all of those can be answered with "Because he was turning into a deranged monster and losing his mind."

We all know the theory isn't true anyways. The alternate dimension theory is the confirmed one, but I actually agree with the "Link created Termina in his mind" theory. I used to believe in the alternate dimension theory, but when you really think about it, the alternate dimension theory makes no sense. I don't care what Nintendo says!

When you really think about it, its the only theory that does make sense. It is the only explanation which leaves no contradictions and has no flaws whatsoever. I say 'explanation' because it is not a theory but cold hard fact.

Which one?

Also, if you think it's a cold hard fact, you're the wrongest person in the world (and yeah, I am exaggerating). Ask Nintendo, they'll say the truth (the truth is Termina's an alternate dimension).

If that's in reference to my earlier post, I was referring to the alternate dimension explanation as "cold hard fact". Perhaps I should have been clearer.

Oh sorry. Since most of your posts on this page were about Link creating Termina, I thought that was the "cold hard fact".

I don't understand how you could possibly think Termina is anything other than a parallel dimension. Despite the fact that it's confirmed by numerous sources and shows not even the slightest hint of being a dream (unlike Link's Awakening), Majora's Mask has such a rich deep history that seems to be WAY too intellectual for the foggy world of dreams. Remember how in LA no character, location, or item had more depth than the fact that it existed. That's because in dreams the why doesn't matter, it's the what. MM has a depth that is on par with anything a "real" link has ever done. It frustrates me that facts are not enough to make logic in some people's heads.

But let's just attempt to continue the insane "logic" of this theory. Because according to it we must also conclude that PH is a dream. Seeing as the Link from WW had to be scared after his perilous journey and needed to construct a dream world to heal himself. And let's not forget about AoL. And any other direct sequels that may be escaping my mind at the moment. How can a concept with no basis gain enough attention to be called a theory?

Or it might have been just that it was a nightmare, which turned into a good dream in the end. Seeing as his previous adventures may have, all the unpleasant moments, inflected his sleep, and came haunting back, as we see many familiar characters, and it was all created in his subconscious, with him having no control over it at all.
That is, IF you choose to believe the dream- theory, which I do not approve.

With all due respect, The Legend of Zelda is a story. Saying that Termina isn't something that has been created in Link's mind is about as "cold, hard" a fact as Rapunzel's hair being blonde in color. Despite what the author, manufacturer or whoever was responsible for creating the story, it is still art. There is no definitive answer and, even if one could possibly exist, why would anyone want to find out. Art touches everyone in a different way and evokes an infinite variety of personal emotions. Philosophy is never meant to reach a conclusion but to explore possibilities and further open your mind.
