Why doesn't Ganon need the Triforce of Courage?

In the intro of the 1989 cartoon, Zelda shows Link the Triforce of Wisdom and says the evil wizard Ganon has the Triforce of Power, and that whoever gets both triforces will rule this land forever.

Why are only two out of three needed?

Two beats one. :D

Probably because if you have power and wisdom, you win. Power and Courage ot sure, Courage and Wisdom you win. Like rock paper scissors.

Very plausible. But surely the triforce of courage did actually exist, it just wasn't talked about.

Unless... well... I really hope no one thought the "tri" in "triforce" referred to the three points of one triangle and not the fact that there are three triangles...

While it is possible that the series was based entirely on the first game, being that the animated series hit only a year after the second game, leading to a real world reason, I like to come up with in universe reasons. To that end, I've always imagined that, in that universe, the Triforce of Courage was held in secret, in case the one of wisdom was lost.

In the episode "Cold Spells" I thought this line sounded more like something the Triforce of Courage would say, but I guess all three of them could say it:
Orderly ways do not make one brave, and neatness does not a kingdom save.

Power corrupts wisdom, to create ways to give it more power. courage has to protect it. That is why link is almost always the one protecting. He's halting the corruption of the triforce of wisdom.

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

I almost think The Triforce of Courage is kinda redundant. Hear me out. If you have Power, you have no need for courage, because you sense you are omnipotent, and if you have Wisdom, you usually can see beyond fear and etc and do not need Courage. Its probably why originally there was only two triforce pieces, and then Zelda II added one for Link. Now I like the Triforce of Courage being part of Link, it helps explain his fortitude and zeal. But as one of three pieces, I cannot see why Ganon would want it.

What needs to be added to Farore's piece is the Power to Create, then Ganon would want it.

I mean I could really dig Courage/Farore's piece giving the wielder the power to create, and Ganon uses it like Promtheus Fire in Alien films. Like Gloom stuf... oooh please Nintendo!
