This is probably the most beautiful-ly sad song I've ever heard from an anime. It's the theme from Elfen Lied called Lilium. A very dark and very gory anime, but with a deep and emotional plot. I can relate to it a lot.

This is a beautiful piano cover of the song. Caution - there's clips of the show in the video so if you haven't yet seen the anime but want to, I suggest to just listen. ^^

Please don't just scroll past this. Really give it a chance even if you're not really fond of piano music. There's a possibility that you'll like it - or even LOVE it! ^^
