The thirteen episode series revolves around a High School student named Kei who has a disease that gives him stand still (mini comas) when he’s stressed, one standstill lasted three years and he is really eighteen but appears fifteen. One night he witnesses a UFO appear and beautiful woman beam down from her ship, that woman turns out to be a half alien half human who observes humanity as part of a Alien Federation, and the next day Kei discovers she is his teacher Mizhou Kazami. In the most bizarre turn of events, Kei and Kazami have to marry to not expose her identity as an alien, and because they get caught by Principle in compromised situation. The concept sounds absurd, and you might think this is a set up for Hentai, its not, and actually all the characters get well flushed out in believiable ways, including why Kei has stand stills.
What grounds the series is Kei and Kazami develop their relationship slowly, though married, they don’t kiss properly till like five or six episodes in, and their relationship is is humorous and heartfelt riot of ups and downs. Their love develops organically, and there even is subplots that threaten it entirely, especially in Episode 12.
Warning Epusode 13 OVA which did not air on TV is the most mature in content, and subject matter, and scenes in it are.. lets just say mature, must be 18+ to watch.
Please Teacher is a case where the Dub voices are better than the Sub, so I recommend English Dub.
Why I give it a ten is the love between Kei and Kazami. Not the physical stuff, that they know each other and come to adore even the flaws and harder aspects of each other’s personalities. There is tender and almost innocence to the bond they share despite the eros aspect which is not leapt into. I know I’ve gone on about this.. get the review over with.. I suppose what I love most anout it is Kazami, the idea an alien lifeform lurks out there with unconditional kind of love is a nice opposite of say the Xenomorph in Alien. That rather than a terror waiting to meet humanity, true love may come down. I know.. sap.. hopeless romantic.. sue me. XD
