What's The Blacksmith/Repair Guy Building?

So, in the new Comic-Con Skyward Sword trailer, we he this guy building something. But, what is he building?

It looks to me like it's just some sort of random model. But if i had to label it, i'd say it looks like the bottom of an Iron Boot. Or maybe some sort of upgrade for an item we have yet to see.

What do you all think?
