Everyone where I live now calls it "Pop."
Growing up in the south, it was always called "Coke" as in:
"Hey what do you want to drink?"
"Um I'll take a coke."
"Sure, what kind?"
"Dr. Pepper please."
Personally, I like "Fizz" or "Fizzy Drink."
