Hmm... I'm going to have to say MiDNA's Lament. I've always had a morbid disposition and a liking for sombre tunes. The scene in which this theme played would have been nothing without it; it set the mood. It also - along with a few other iconic songs - set a contrast to the series' lively and upbeat tunes, which seem most prominent above else. Not to mention its uniqueness among the game's MIDI-esque assortment of fail. I'd say it is among the best songs the series has to offer.

Even though I like Sacred Grove, Temple of Time and Kakariko Village Theme and I absolutely love Midna's Lament and the Hyrule Field Day Theme, my favorite is Hidden Village. It's very epic and catchy in my opinion. I like the hyrule Field theme for the same reasons. I can see why most people prefer Midna's Lament. It's sad, beautiful and fits the mood of that part of the game very well. Anyways, i've included some of my favorite covers of these three, because I think everyone should hear them.

In my opinion... (And obviously by majority) I feel has if Midna's Lament had the most effective tune/tone etc... The goodies that make up music as it just suited the entire context perfectly.

How is Hyrule Field not on the list!? The theme is even amplified to an epic orchestration when horseback. At dawn, after Sun's Song plays, and Hyrule Field's music kicks in, you're riding along the vast field to the sound of the epic music and Epona's galloping. This is the greatest feeling in the world. It's easily my favourite song, not only in Twilight Princess, but in all of Zelda.

Here is the Super Smash Bros. Brawl version of the song. It contains small segments of the on-foot theme in addition to the regular Epona orchestration.
