What book do you think everyone should have to read in school?

1984 was a required reading for me in high school and is probably the book I feel mostly should continue to be required reading. It's complex and really encourages critical thinking in a way no novel has done for me before, and helped develop critical writing skills in high school.

The religious texts of multiple different religions. Religion is easily one of the biggest factors in a society so teaching the youth the moral values and lessons in each religion to help them make an informed decision on which (if any) religion they want to choose from is a must, imo.

I'm just gonna list my favorite book (or series tbh), which is Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It's extremely well written and you just get lost in it!

Very much a dude.
Honestly, there's way too many that I think everyone who loves books should have read at least once in their life.

Some books that I had to read I ended up being entertained by, one of them being Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn, and both 1984 and Animal Farm by George Orwell I feel are also entertaining.

Depends on the context of the class, really. Some books would be entirely irrelevant to the class.

Definitely any work George Orwell, because let's just face it Americans cannot for Pete's sake accurately define Communism and or Socialism without misdefining it as the definition of Totalitarianism which is incorrect. Damn you Joe McCarthy.

I'd also Recommend To Kill a Mockingbird mostly because it takes a strong stance against manic systematic racism in society.

The last book I'd recommend is Slaughterhouse-Five mostly because it talks about the horrors and dangers of zealous patriotism in and outside the field of war and how we treat former soldiers with psychological complications.
