So as most of us know there are many different options of which applications you want to use for your day to day tasks on your computer. This thread is a bit of a survey of sorts. I will list a bunch of different categories of applications, and you will list which applications you use to fill those rolls.

Operating System: Windows 7 on my main computer. I have Windows 8 on my laptop and I might consider upgrading my desktop to that eventually.

Web Browser: Firefox

Audio Player: foobar2000

Video Player: Media Player Home Classic. I'm too lazy to list all my codecs.

Image Viewer: Windows Preview or whatever for simple images, but if I'm flipping through a gallery I use Honeyview.

IRC Client: >2013

FTP Client: Filezilla

Text Editor: Notepad++, but if it's just a simple note I'll use Notepad.

Programming Environment: Eclipse for Java, Visual Studios for C++. If it's not a big program though I'll just use Notepad++.

Torrent Client: uTorrent 2.something

Archiving Utility: 7Zip

IM Client: Skype

Image Editor/Manipulator: MS Paint. I barely do any image work and I don't want to fire up Photoshop just to resize an image.

Office Suite: I have Open Office on this computer, but usually I just use WordPad.

Anti-Virus: Malwarebytes Pro

PDF Reader: Foxit Reader

FTP Client: FileZilla

Text Editor: Microsoft Office Word 2007. The setup of 2010 is awful.

FTP Client:what?

I forget what the acronym itself is - think it's something along the lines of "File Transfer Program," but that's irrelevant - and it basically can transfer your site files to a new host/domain, or back up files on your computer. Or something like that.

Thanks

Also I would like to add media converter. At one point I used real converter but I'm 99% that the free version is made to take up all the system resources and be far slower than needed. Now I use ffmpeg and because I hate typing paths into cmd and the options are far greater than what I need I use avanti to simplify it.
(media converter: ffmpeg with avanti)

Applications You Use Most Often?

So what applications do you use most often or find rather essential for your digital life. From Smartphone to Desktop pc.
A few example for me would be my trusty firefox, Steam(although I've been a wee bit inactive from that recently) Thunderbird(mail).
