It was sort of done in PH. Perhaps a tag-team sort of battle? MM showed that it IS possible to control a goron, so why not?

Okay I think that we will fight Volvagia but the hero of Gorons will ask Link for help Links kills him and the Goron takes all the credit for killing him it seems like something Zelda would do right

I don't think Nintendo would rehash a boss, just for timeline placement puropses. There's still a possibility of Volvagia returning, a fire dragon would look amazing in Skyward Sword's art style.

I don't think they would do it for the timelines sake. However, it does make sense, and Nintendo knows anything they do will pretty much make sense as this is the first tittle in the series so they don't have to worry about timeline clashes at all. Nintendo do love to rehash and Volvagia is one of the most popular bosses of all time in my opinion so I'd say it's definitely possible.

I'm not sure. I only remember one hero being mentioned. If maybe there'll be some team mechanic like pupairo12 said. But I see it being slow. Not really practical in my opinion.

Things are re-written all the time. Nintendo could add Link to fighting Volvagia if they wanted to. (I don't think they will, though.)

True, but Gohma has never been brought back in a prequel to explain her origins. Each Gohma has been different.

You're right lol, I forgot it's the Zelda timeline we're talking about. That's too straightforward and makes too much sense, I'm starting to wonder if there is even a way that Volvagia would appear, maybe another timeline split? Time travel has been rumored due to the backwards Lullaby in the trailer (I'd better rest for a while).

Why would another split be needed? It wouldn't. It's pretty simple. Link helps the Goron fight somehow, and the Goron slams Volvagia's head with the Megaton Hammer. I seriously doubt this will happen, though. Pretty unnecessary if you ask me. But that's just me.

Yeah, I don't think the timeline is this important to the dev team, but it would be cool to be able to fight Volvagia again...

Why was the first needed, it was only later used for the convenience of Nintendo.

I guess Zelda was never really supposed to have a timeline in the first place. Later on, by adding more story, they strenghtened the idea of one existing and HAD to make one.

But I've always thought that by the time Nintendo finally tried to tie all the loose ends, they had too much of a mess to fix (a fascinating mess, nonetheless). But that's just my take on it.

Volvagia in SS? New Evidence

I just watched the latest Gameinformer Zelda video for the scaldera boss fight. I found something rather interesting up by the ceiling in the room where the boss is fought. As you can see in the picture I have posted below, it has some resemblance to the way volvagias skeleton looked once it had been defeated, although this new one seems allot bigger.

Heres the one from skyward sword

Here is the defeated Volvagias skeleton.

In OOT you are told by a goron that Volvagia is an ancient dragon that was revived by Ganon, and was defeated long ago by the hero of the Gorons, using the megaton hammer. Could Volvagia have already been defeated by the hero of the Gorons in SS and this is actually it's skeleton, or is it the skeleton some some other dragon. There is a dragon design on the door to the fire temple in this game which would suggest that there was once a dragon and it is dead, so highly doubt that whoever made that door would have put a design of something that was still hostile towards them.

Here is the dragon door design, this is not so new and you have probably seen this one

What are your thoughts on this, do you think that skeleton is Volvagia? Or do you think that Volvagia will actually be alive in this game or simply not appear at all?

This has cameo written all over it, and almost seems paradoxically rediculous... How could Volvagia's skeleton appear right above Scaldera's battle arena and yet emerge whole in OoT, when we know SS already takes place before that? No, I don't think this suggests anything. It's just an Easter Egg Nintendo decided to drop in; I can't think of anything more explanatory.
