Today I wanted to share you my own TOP 10: Favourite Songs from Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I don't know about top ten, but my top three would defiantly be Nocturne of Shadow, Song of Storms, and the Fire Temple (chanting) music

Zora's Domain, Serenade of Water and Gerudo Fortress are the best in my opinion.

My personal order (even though this is a hard one)

1) Gerudo Valley music.

This needs no explanation, it's just epic in so many ways

2) Zora Domain music

I find this really pretty and relaxing

3) Saria's Song

Catchiest damn music ever

4) Bolero of Fire

I've always found this really powerful and heart warming for some reason. I love the cutscene of Sheik and Link playing this together, especially.

5) Serenade of Water/ Sheik's Theme (it's a tie)

The Serenade of Water sounds really mournful, which I associate with the Zora's being buried beneath the ice. Sheik's theme is just really pretty and I've always liked it.


6) Minuet of Forest

I find this dramatic and swoopy.


7) Epona's Song/ Lon Lon Ranch music

This is peaceful, I've always been fond of it, but mainly when you're actually in Lon Lon Ranch, not when you play it for Epona to come. The ocarina is jarring.

8) Nocturne of Shadow

The song just does what it says on the tin. It's dark and spooky.

9) Spirit Temple music

For some reason it's exciting and feels like it's leading up to something

10) Song of Time

Standard and classic. I particularly like it as the background music of the Temple of Time.

Nice thread.

1. Forest Theme - Captures that sense of confusion and mystery within the Temple perfectly.

2. Opening Theme - I just love this theme, always brings back nostalgia, it sets the tone for what is to be a great experience.

3. Sheik's Theme - Quite soothing and peaceful, definitely one of my favourite character themes.

4. Minuet of the Forest - Not really a song, but this small tune always stood out to me when I first played the game.

5. Zelda's Lullaby - The true original and the most synonymous with the series.

6. Kakariko Village Theme - That one piece of solace in a world filled with evil and the theme matches this.

7. Water Temple Theme - Not sure what it is about this theme, I just really like it despite my dreaded first trip to this dungeon.

8. Lost Woods Theme - A fun up-beat theme which is something unique in this particular soundtrack.

9. Shadow Temple Theme - Very creepy and dark, fits the setting perfectly.

10. Gerudo Valley - I just couldn't leave this theme out, I'm not a huge fan like some, but it's still a very memorable track.

I actually thought pretty hard about this...

10. Ice Cavern - Zora's Domain was originally going to be here, but hearing this piece... There's just something alluring and mysterious about it. It also captures the ice theme very well.

9. Serenade of Water - Honestly idk I just like it.

8. Final Battle - An epic theme for an epic climax. It really gives you the feeling that, at this moment, everything is on the line. Truly phenomenal.

7. Water Temple - An ambient theme for a possibly painful dungeon. Even after hours of cluelessly walking around in circles, it doesn't get irritating.

6. Gerudo Valley - Explanation not needed.

5. Hyrule Field - What can I say? It's adventurous, nostalgic, and fun. It doesn't try to be super epic, but at the same time it's not super boring. A perfect theme for the central area of the game.

4. Sheik's Theme - Tranquil and soothing. It makes you feel like you're talking to a good friend, although Sheik is more of a mysterious aid to Link than a friend.

3. Spirit Temple - Cryptic as all hell. I also adore pretty much anything ancient Egyptian-inspired, so points for that.

2. Song of Storms - Yee

1. Forest Temple - This theme is absolutely perfect. From every ambient chant to the next, this atmosphere-packed piece without a doubt sets the tone for a dungeon full of mysteries.

Dunno about Top Ten but my Top 4 Would Be
1. Song of Storms-though I actually heard this first in the Oracle games, I think Seasons?
2. Gerudo Valley-lovin that Spanish Guitar
3. Lon Lon Ranch-not the Epona song, just Lon Lon-its peaceful
4. Saria's Song-I actually prefer the Sacred Grove rendition but the first version is a fun little song, plus the first time we saw Darunia dancing to it was priceless!
5. Requiem of Spirit-majestic and a little sad, first heard in TP though
