What games for you are timeless? Which games that you have played do you think that if you picked them back up in 30 years they'd still be very enjoyable despite being primitive or antiquated in some way in other people's opinions. Examples would be like saying I don't care what the graphics in LOZ look like because it's a great game regardless or saying that even though future Zelda games might only have motion controls doesn't detract from the older games at all. You can put games that just came out as well if you think you won't ever stop playing it.

Here's my list of games I think I could play until the day I die without getting tired of them organized by system (I'll rank them in order of how much I love them anyway within systems):

I would add the first Fable (X-Box) to the list, both sequels might have better graphics, but the first game (well the Lost Chapter version of the first game since it has more side-quests) is the far superior game.

I would also add the first three Harry Potter games on X-box (I've played the PC, PSone and X-box version of the first game and they are surprisingly different) and the first Buffy game which was an exclusive X-box title.

I'm going to limit my list to five games from five different systems and series. I promis you, these are the five games that my children will play first.

5. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time- N64- Nov 23, 1998
Ah, OoT. So Many of us have played this game. The amount of Zelda fans who have played this classic? Impossible to measure. This is often called one of the best games ever. It revolutionized gaming. Most of us have those memories of links first steps into hyrule field. I remember seeing that gigantic world. I was raised on the SNES, so this was amazing. Speaking of, this is a perfect time for...
4. Earthbound-SNES-Jun 5, 1995
Okay, Many of us have never played this Classic. And I don't blame you. Even in the times of the SNES, not many people saw this game. Although many people saw this game as a amazing RPG, with very witty humor. And I agree. It really shows how a RPG is meant to be. It has a huge following, and its a shame that it can't be released on the VC due to Legal issues. It would make it so much easier for some people to appreciate this game. It would also help my kids, lawl.
3. Halo-Xbox-November 15, 2001
Okay, before I get all the hate mail from the noobs on this site ranting how shooting games suck and how I should get a life, then you should know that I hate you, and will ignore you. I love halo. This game is classic. Although I wouldn't be showing this to my kids until they were 13, I would still have this be one of their early games. This is my favorite shooting game. It doesn't have a wide range of weapons, but that makes it easier to keep track of. It has one of each type, which is perfect. It has a wide range of enemies, so you aren't shooting the same thing for 5 hours. It even has a good story line, and it has launched a good series of books.
2. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney-GBA/DS-October 11, 2005
Its no great secret that I love this game. This game is my favorite game ever, in fact. It is amazing. It is so fun. The courtroom mechanics work very well, and I'm often amazed by the storyline. This storyline is epic. The Jokes are funny, also. This game has great humor, and all the jokes flow together very well. A Attorney themed video game may seem like a strange concept, but this does it amazingly. I'm constantly surprised by each new turn in the case, and every character has their own unique quirk to them that makes them different. I love investigating the crime scenes, and debating testimony is always a fun, but difficult ordeal.
1. Tetris-Everything-June 6, 1984
You all know this game. This insanely fun video game which has undoubtedly eaten away hours of your time, which you stalked blocks and listened to that addicting theme song. This game is so fun. I love It is so addicting. You keep telling yourself, just one more round...Then 5 hours have passed. You can't help it. This game is simple, but something about it just makes you want to continue playing, trying to beat your high score. There's a reason why its on of the most famous video games of all time. You have at least one copy of it in your house. That's not a guess. That's a fact. My family has 4. Million's of games have used this as inspiration. You go to Gamestop, you'll find at least 4 tetris based games, or variations of tetris games.

Well, that's my post. Its a long one, too. I guess I got a bit carried away.
