problem is I need tools. and tools are ****ing expensive. I need all kinds of wrenches, a floor jack + jackstands, a pry bar, but the most important tool is a (relatively?) safe place to be. I live in an apartment. I do not feel safe in this place at all. these ****ers would piss and **** all over me if they could, i can tell because they are *****.

Tonight I go to a training to be a counselor at a VBS camp. I am in charge of a group of seven to eight second grade girls.

Over 700 kids attend this camp every year.

Except unlike other VBS camps, this one is fun and cool and, dare I say it, badass.

The Church is Westwood Baptist, and the camp is Summer Hummer. It's less of a Bible camp then it is a fun camp that's also a safe space for kids. The campus is huuuuuuge and the activities include:

• On-campus zipline facilities throughout the back woods
• go carts
• glow in the dark games
• water slides/blow up bouncie houses/swim day
• those really cool acrobat trampoline thingies
• various field games
• campus/camper wide capture the flag
• live music
• movies
• free food

All of this sounds a little ridiculous, but most of my favorite childhood memories come from time spent at this camp. I have a lot of problems with organized Christianity, but this gets the nod from me. There's a new charity to support every year, and the kids compete to see which age group can raise the most money. The competition aspect seems petty, but it helps raise even more money for the selected cause.

The theme this year is space!!!

Downside: cheesy gospel music and hand motions, plus no swearing for tessy.

I'm just really excited because it was such a positive experience, and now I get to be a counseler!

but they started cutting our hours at work, so less money for an unknown amount of time. I definitely need to find a more long term job soon.
