Felt really blessed today, I was at a store I frequented a lot in my CarVing days. I use to get some jewlery (stainless) there, and they kinda stopped carry it, but today that had some, and after going through many boxes, opening the closed ones I found an awesome piece I added to my collection. Actually two, but I really had to be persistent to find the one that I did find. It reminded me of old times, and its a wonderful piece.

I pulled out an orange pocket new testament at a taco place today (i keep all my cards, cash, junk etc loose in my pockets) and the cashier totally lost his mind over it for like half a second before saying "oh" and regaining composure like nothing had happened. i was like "huh, what" and after a bit of pressure he meekly admitted he thought i had pulled out a tails the fox themed wallet

Talking about this here to avoid making it seem like I'm dragging on a conversation that doesn't want to be dragged on

This article wants so badly to take it out on BMI. But the arguments against it just don't hold up. BMI being inaccurate for non white people isn't relevant for white people trying to discredit it. Everyone knows athletes have an obese/overweight bmi, but the vast majority of individuals obviously are not gonna be in this group. Because these arguments are made in bad faith, it's harder to take the legitimate criticism seriously; that health-agnostic weight issues left unresolved lead to self esteem issues. And this is not the fault of the bmi measurement. This exact same article quotes nebulous "experts" as saying an 80 centimeter for women and 94 centimeter for men "belly button" waist measurement or higher puts you at risk for weight related health conditions. Which I'm roughly at. It's way less fat than you might think 94cm is, and I'm fairly sure a number of healthy people have a waistline at or above that. So basically my overweight BMI is a totally accurate indicator, and trying to eat better is necessary for me to achieve better health. It's crazy to me that this article gets mad at bmi for inaccuracy but thinks this complete binary of over/under a specific number is totally okay. This is the point where the writer of the article should lose any respect you might have somehow had for them before. We need to stop shaming people for taking weight seriously just as much as we ought not to shame people for being overweight, or having weight goals. Obesity is a serious health risk that people should get help for! It's beyond the point of simple body shaming- it's more akin to taking a stance against smoking and trying to get people you care about to quit. It's almost impossible to do alone, right? So why are we getting butthurt at doctors trying to help us with our weight?

There is an odd feeling about looking at apartments in the city you were born in, but never lived. Something weirdly poetic...maybe I need to go backwards to find my future? Not sure if I believe in fate, but this is growing up.
