Being high elevates you to planes of consciousness where you worldly concerns and worries are just minor blips on the cosmic map, man.
Getting high is just another way to enjoy oneself. You get joy from playing games because it releases chemicals in the body which you like the feel of. Getting high is simply putting exogenous chemicals into the body that produce an effect which the user enjoys. Or doesnt enjoy in some cases. It can be a very different experience for different people. Just like some dont enjoy playing video games and are completely disinterested in them.
Drugs can be viewed quite negatively, and unnecessarily so in most cases. The dangers are wildly exaggerated by the media, most use without problems. Take peanuts for example, people die from those but it doesn't make peanuts bad and the media does not call for crackdowns by the police on them. It's when people start to use anything to fill a void in their life that they get problems with addiction and it doesn't have to be an illegal drug, of they weren't around it would be something else.
Whilst some will say that substances cause problems, it is generally the personality of the user that is the issue. There was a Korean who was addicted to games and stayed in bed for months, being fed and having a commode fitted so he could poop and play until he had a heart attack and died.
