The Road by Cormac McCarthy is one of my favorite books. I had to read it for a class a year ago and now I am re-reading it. Its story and atmosphere along with its themes are very interesting. Io just wondered if anyone else here had read this book and what they thought of it.

I read it but didn't enjoy it, i knew what Cormac was trying to do in this novel and fair play to him for really pushing a very unique style of a very powerful idea but it just didn't speak to me, the constant repetition of the words 'grey', 'glassed' and 'okay' just distracted me too much for me to immerse myself in. Its still a haunting read, especially if you can get it all done in one sitting but for me it was just too distracting in its own context for me to fully appreciate it, though i love that Cormac had the mind to write it so uniquely. =]
