The Mystery of the Sacred Shield

Recently I watched a video by Monster Maze: The Curious Case of Kakariko Village - Zelda Theory - YouTube . This Theory suggests that the OoT shiekahs and Hylians discovered the essence of spirits, magic, in it's liquid state leading to them experimenting in necromancy and building an undead army. He mentions the potions shop being an owner of the book of the sheikah. The potion shop owner sells both magic AND red potions.

What if the Hylians discovered other elements such as the red life force used to create potions. Maybe Heart pieces too? What other elements did the Hylians discover? They might have discovered the element of time in its solid state, the time shift stones. Now we have three elements that represent the three elements of the Triforce of Fire, wind, and water. However, Zelda lore also usually depicts the forth element as earth, and is always depicted as a bright dessert or a world cast in shadow.

So when thinking of a fourth element the Hylians could find would either be sand, or Malice. Something to be noted about Malice is it's ties to the moon. The blood moon pops into existence right before The Calamity Ganon spreads Malice among Hyrule. Another Moon that appears is the Moon of Termina that appears when Majora's Mask is released from it's seal. Though, we don't know if Majora was created by Malice.

Looking into more things that appear to be made of Malice I saw the Sacred Shield of Skyward Sword, which is upgraded using monster parts and... DUSK RELICS. Now dusk relics are a completely different piece of the puzzle so we're going to ignore their history in this post. However an Era of Dusk would definitely be an opportune time for the moon to come out. I digress, what's really important is how the Sacred Shield changes when it's upgraded. It depicts a purple Goddess.

The conclusive question I'm arriving at now is if the Goddess of Earth is either depicted with the desert or malice, who would be the Goddess of Sand's Malice counter-part? What does she have to do with the spirit temple existing in the Gerudo Desert? And how does the fourth element, earth, tie into the Triforce?

Din is the goddess of Power but is also associated with earth, because in the creation myth it's said that with her flaming arms she cultivated the red earth. Nature isn't really a part of the Triforce but each goddess represents a form of nature, if not multiple. Most common, Farore is associated with wind, plus flora. Din is linked to fire, and earth. Nayru is linked to water.

The statue in the Spirit Temple is a bit of an anomaly, it could just be a figure from the Gerudo's past that they began to worship.

Maybe, but now I do want to focus on Dusk relics and it's potential ties to the Goddess of The Sand.

So the dusk relics have a counter part being the amber relics, and when put together they created yin and yang. Interestingly enough, the only items that use both the dusk and amber relic to be upgraded is the quiver and the sling shot in skyward sword.

Now the only other place we see the symbol of yin and yang is none other than with the spirit medallion held within the sage of spirit who is trapped in the spirit temple, watched over by guess who. The Goddess of the Sand. Hmmm...

Each sage medallion is designed to represent the respective element of the sage. The Yin and Yang symbol is a symbol of spirit and duality of light/dark and good/evil. Perhaps the dusk/amber relics are similarly linked, but only because they are light/dark counterparts.

Makes me think, Why would the Goddess of The Sand have dominion over the spirit temple? Does she have a dark counter-part?
