PART I: A PROMISE

The Hero of Time had saved the world and no one knew…

Navi as Link stepped from the Sanctuary of Time floated off, leaving The Lad since she had fulfilled her purpose in helping guide him. The Hero of Time felt a great sorrow fill his heart as he watched his friend disappear into the ray of light.

The Lad returning to Kokiri Forest sat in a log as tear dropped from his eyes on to moss. He had traveled through space and time, and had a great adventure. Now he was alone as before.. when he heard some laughter. The Young Link made his way to a great log that was imbedded in a great rock wall. Inside he he rollsd out on to pavers of purist white, the room itself was hewn of stone, and two great lampstands burning with a moss green flames. Before him a pool of blue sparkling water.

Reaching for the Ocarina, he pulled out one, looking at the holes, and bowing hus head he threw it in and turned to leave, a tear rolling down his eye.

Suddenly a tune began to play:

The Boy paused and turned when rising out of the water was a figure of such enchanting beauty, her hair fell in three long separate flows of pink, her skin like the mason stones of white and her breasts, and lower regions covered in ivy. She floated in air, her feet clade in brown leather boots.

“You returned!”

The Lad looked at her in awe, he remembered many great fairies in his quest, this one he had forgotten, he was ashamed to say.

“Can I heal you of any wounds?”

Link shook his head.

She looking at his downcast expression and reached out with her hand.

“You look so sad..”

Link looking up at her with his big blue eyes said,

“I lost a friend..”

The Great Fairy floated on to her side and held her head with her hand, her finger nails pink like her hair and almost glowing.

“Your friend.. was a fairy?”

Link nodded,
“Navi..”

The Great Fairy leaning forward said,
“Navi.. I know her.”

Link suddenly felt stirred,
“Could you find her?!”

The Great Fairy rubbed her soft chin.
“Yes.. I can.”

Link raised his hand,
“Great! Let’s go!”

The Great Fairy sighed,
“I am afraid that is impossible.. I cannot leave this place.”

Link’s ears lowered like leaves about to fall.

“There has to be a way!” shouted The Little Hero of Time.

The Fairy laughed,
“There is one.. if a Man visits and takes my hand, the spell keeping me here will break.”

Link shuffled his boots.
“Uh.. I am a boy.”

The Great Fairy nodded,
“Seven years it would take.. seven long.. lonely years.”

Link held his index finger under his lip and said,
“I will be back then, I promise.”

The Great Fairy responded,
“Do not make a promise to a Fairy if you know you cannot keep it.”

Link looking at her intently said,
“I will return.”

The Young Hero made his way out of the Forest and headed to Kakariko Village, there he entered The Temple of Time, approaching the pedestal with a sword protruding out of it. The handle and crossbar were perriwinkle purple, with diamond of gold like a double sided arrowhead. Link leapt up, his hand hanging from quillions that looked like wings, he then took the handle and pivoted his boots on the pedestal to pull it pit when a great blue light swirled around him and he felt his body levitate and fall into a white pool where and great black hands swirled around churning the milk like liquid, when rising out was a figure in a green tunic and cap, and landed on a cold slab with the Master Sword in hand. He looked into the flat of the blade, his reflection startling him.

Seven years had passed.. and that meant. He rushed outside, the world much the same as it was, with people older, including him. He headed back to Kokiri Forest, and saw vined has covered the hole that lead therein. Taking his weapon he cut at them and tried to fit, but his body was too big. The irony, as a child he could enter, but could not set her free, now he could set her free and could not enter.

The Hero contemplated how to proceed, when he saw a Bomb Flower, it was as if the Golden Goddesses had sent divine intervention! Taking one, he set it at the enterance, the fuse lighting and then it exploding. It made a great crack, and yet he needed more, he returned to flower that regrew another bomb like bulb and set it in place, repeating this several times, with the sound of boom! Shaking the forest and rock. At last there was a hole large enough that he could wiggle through. Inside there was darkness, the two great lamps lomg gone out, and the water was still. Ivy grew over the Great Triforce seal.

The Adult Hero shouted,
“Hello? I have returned! I kept my promise Great Fairy.”

There was no response.

PART II: FREEDOM

Link lit a fire arrow and touched the lampstands, each immolating with the orange flame. He then stepped into the pool of water, wading in it to his knees, below he felt a hole that was plugged with kelp. Taking out a spade he began to spoon it out and remove the gunk plugging the hole, when a gyser sprouted, throwing him up in the air and he flew shouting, “Ha-ret!!”

He lands on the white hewn stones in their sqaures, when the pool began to sink down the hole, Link rising to his feet quickly dashed, leaping into the maelstrom forming form smaller whirlpool, The Hero was caught in the swirl of water that took him down. He fell down what seemed a waterfall, and fell for what felt an age. Landing in dark water, he bobbed at the top of the surface and saw candles, all beeswax flicker at a stone table, which upon it was a great chrysalis, like four great peridot leaves folded together in a pod. The Hero approached and placed his hand with his leather gauntlet running up against it.

Placing his hand on the great pod he felt a beat that was faint, and closing his eyes he wished,

“O Great Fairy.. rise from your slumber and let us together break this spell.”

The beat stopped and opening his eyes The Hero lowered his head and stepped away. It was then the leaves spread open and hand with moss and ivy weaving around it grabbed at his shoulder. Turning, Link felt her skin as he took hold of her hand ans with that she sorsng from pod and began to laugh as she levitated.

“You came! I am free!”

The Hero held her hand and smiled, When the candles went out, and the ground shook. The Great Fairy looking at him, pulled the Man into her arms and flew upward. The Temple was collapsing and she using her power ascended, holding the Hero in a great glass like bottle. When they at last came to the surface, and there Link rolled out of the open glass on to the mossy ground. The Great Fairy took a step, her boots touching the earth outside the shrine for the first time. She felt the wind blow across her skin, and she leaned down to Link,

“Are you alright?”

The Hero laid on her bent knee and leg,
“I think so.. you.. are free.”

She smiled, her pink blossom like hair lapping over him as she held him tight,

“Thank you..”

Link closed his eyes and smiled as the Giant of a Lady pulled his body to her cheek.

“One last thing.. I forgot to tell you..”

Link opened his eyes,
“Oh?”

She winked,

“We are wed.”

Link felt the air pulled out of him and he felt faint.
“Whaat?!”

She laughed and said,
“Well that is how it works.. Great Fairies or Nymphs can only leave their haunt if they fall in love with a man and leave to be his wife.”

Link lost consciousness as she laughed. The Great Fairy watching over him as he slept.

PART III: THE GREAT FAIRY GOES TO TOWN

The Hero awoke and he saw the tops of the trees and light making the leaves luminescent. He sat his head up and saw no one, and he began to wonder if it all was a dream. Then he stood up and saw his shadow that caste on the bark of the great tree was tall and he realized it was not.

He heard a sweet and excited voice say,
“You are finally awake my groom.”

Link felt dizzy as a shadow covered him like a cloud and he looked up when a strand of hair touched his cap.
“This thing about us.. you were teasing right?”

The Great Fairy came down, her face next to his.
“Mmmmmmm.. afraid not. That is the rules..”

Link almost teetered again, and she held his arm so he would not collapse.
“For what its worth.. I will help you find your friend. And maybe.. in time.. you could begin to love me..”

The Hero of Time heard a very distinct and sorrowful tone in those last words. He looking at her, the freckle dot on her face as big as an eye.
“Alright.. lets do it.”

She smiled, and landed, towering over him in her boots like a Gerudo.

Link asked,
“What do you want to do first?”

Giving s beaming smile and tilting her head, she said,
“Shopping! I want to go shopping!”

Knowing just where to go, The Hero lead His Partner to Kakariko Village. The inhabitants looked at her, she lookee in one window and a shop keeper screamed.
Some of the men in street looked at her as she walked over them, their eyes burning. Link looking at the reaction said,
“Maybe some clothes are in order? I mean I like the ivy as a Kokiri.. but..”

The Great Fairy nodded as she smirked.

Link then became flushed as he considerec looking at her,
“Uh nothing will probably fit.. we need to go to a tailor..”

The made for back of a shop where, inside a Old Lady, named Impa gathered as much thread and fabric she could.
“I hope you like green.. its all I have an abundance of.”

The Great Fairy laughed happily.
“I love green!”

The old lady taking a needle and thread raised it up and said, “Now I shall sow!”
Suddenly the old woman’s hands moved as if they were the wings of bird, flapping so fast that she pieced together a large dress and stockings for her boots. Link paced back and forth, when The Great Fairy came out in her new outfit, and he tripped back.

“Does it look alright?” She asked.

Link nodded,
“It looks.. ahem.. great!”

She blushed.
“What next?”

The Hero of Time rubbed his neck, and said,
“Hungry?”

She wrinkled her nose, and nodded. Leaning against a well, Link brought them some Hydromelon which The Great Fairy held like a grape. They both ate together.
“I was thinking.. you need a name. I cannot keep calling you Great Fairy.”

She looked down at him and winked. He large lashes swaying as if little branches in the wind.
“What would you call me?”

Link blushing a little said,
“Fay.. if that is ok.”

She smiled, her perfect pearly white teeth showing.
“Fay.. I like that.”

Part IV: THE SATYR

image0.jpeg

At the crumbled Fountain in The Forest of Kokiri there was the sounds of hooves tapping on earth and stone. A black raven flew with one red eye, and landed on the horn of a towering figure. He had long blond hair that was braided, and two great curved horns.

Petting the head of the black bird that perched on the horsehoe shaped horn near his face, The Satyr said,

“So someone has broken the spell and let her out..”

The Raven made croaking sound, and he motioned with his hand,

“Find her..”

The Black Bird soared into the sky and flapper its shadow wings as he headed out above the canopy of brenches and leaves, turning as it swooped towards the Hylian Hills and in the direction of Hyrule Castle.

Emerging around The Satyr was a group of Moblins, each holding clubs made of horse bone. They encircled the Gilded Horned One and resting their weapons in the soil as they chanted,

“Acantho! Acantho!”

His golden eyes flared with a fire like that of the smiths that forged swords.

Fay walked with a new lightness in her dress, Her Hero walked by her side. Some little girls chasing butterflies that came from her long skirt began to laugh. The Village was merry, and Link admitted that seeing her free of the Fountain made him feel a sense of happiness. In all this jubilation he had almost forgot Navi, and the search for her. Fay pausing, placed her hand on a pottee plant, making it grow, and its flowers bloom in pinks and burgundies. Life swirled around her, and Link could see how intoxicating the power she had was. It was then in this happy moment he felt a chill as a black bird flew over, croaking and circling above Fay. The Hero saw that one of its eyes glowed the color of blood.

Fay was distracted by the children at play around her with their nets trying to catch butterflies of pink and peridot that she summoned. Their laughter was a symphony to her ears, for she had known silence for many years.

The Hero of Time aimed his longbow, and let fly an arrow, the Raven swerved and it missed. Link drew another from his quiver as he took aim with one eye closed, and fired. This shot struck the wing made it fall, black feathers descending like leaves of death. The Hero went in search, Fay occupied by the playful children. He came upon one feather, then another, and a third when he heard a croaking. Suddenly the Raven fluttered at him, its beak aiming for his eyes like a black iron blade. Link ducked his head, his long blond longs swirling and the cap torn clean off.

The Black Bird was now wresrling in the green cap, the air in its one wing. Link taking the tip of the Master Sword removrd the cap from the creature, and held it down with flat of his blade, its red eye looking over at him when he recovered it with his cap and poised the blade,

Back at Kokiri Forest, Acantho one eye was blood red and faded,

“An Elf.,. So she has paired herself with an Elf.”

Turning to his Moblin Horde, The Satyr said,
“The time has come to shed the shadows of the wood and step into the light.. we are heading to Hyrule!”

The Swine faced Warriors with their singular horns let out a cry as they raised their clubs.

The resumed the chant from before, “Acantho! Acantho!”

The Satyr using his hooves began to skip tun until he was in gallop, his Horde behind him. Acantho’s long blond braided lockd flowing in tails and his eyes burning as a fire that now was burning within him, a passion that had no bridle to tame.

Back in Kakariko Village, Link tossed his cap in a refuse pile and sheathed his blade as he came to a scene where the villagers were dancing in a circle with Fay in the center laughing with such innocence, unaware as The Hero was, that a shadow was coming…

Part V: THE RECKONING

Link sat on the stone wall around a circular fountain as he ate a carrot. Fay leaned against the fountain and smiled,
“This has been the best day!”
She was ever cheerful, her face beaming with a smile and her lashes as pink as her hair, almost glowing with warmth. The Hero was beginning to realize how contagious the joy she had was, the passion for life that he had to admit he did not possess. Perhaps in their time together he could glean how to see wonder in everything, even a carrot.

The gate the city burst open, guards falling over as Moblins charged in swinging their clubs, lmockimg a cart of pots and flowers of teal, pink, and orange. Another beat a window of glass smashing. The screams of the locals stirres Link who set down his food and drrw from his back the Hylian Shield and The Master Sword. He looked in the reflection of the blade, to remind himself he was a child no more, and then he rushed towards the commotion. Fay floated into air and said,
“Link!”

The Hero came upon a scene of wanton destruction, the Pig Gaced Warriors smashing everyrhing in sight. Guards in their plate tried to make these hostilities cease, and were knocked into air, smashing into second story windows, and posts.

The Hero leapt into fray shout “Hi-yah!” His blade swirling with orange fire as he stuck one Moblin the hinde, making it cry out and tear drop fall from its eye. Link then spub arouhd and blocked with his shimmering shield a club with spikes, the bearing of which sounded like a gong. Link rolles to the side, and then leapt up striking the Moblin in the torso, making his squeel. A third Moblin charged from the gate with its spear, hitting Link and the felled Moblin that fell down.

Link struggled as this Moblin used his long woodne handle to pin The Hero to the stones of the village. The Hero had his shield pinned tp his chest, and as the enemy thrusted its head with the pointed horn, he rose it slightly to meet the metal of his only defense. As the Hylian Shield rang, Fay floated towards them and said,
“Stop! Please!”

Casting her hand, she summoned her magic power and drew it over Link, his armor became thick with plate mail. He began to ride up, pushing against the spear and swing the Master to make its mark on the Moblin.

There was a chuckle, as hoofs beat the cobbled stones. Emerging from the shadow of the gate was The Satyr, his blond locks glowing as he drew closer.
“You make a cute couple.”

Fay’s face grew grave at the sight of him.
“Acantho..”

The Satyr turned his gilded eyes to The Great Fairy and with a smile he said,
“You are far from your fountain my love.”

He then tracking her eyes which fixed on The Hero, turned,
“Ah The Elf Kin, her Champion no doubt. Tell me.. did she tell you what would happen if she left her fountain?”

Fay interrupted,
“He is innocent Acantho! Leave hin alone! Please!”

The Satyr reached for long axe slung on his back and eyed Fay,
“You knew the consequences if you left your sanctuary.. his ignorance of how you manipulated him to do it matters little.. mortals.. you have a genius for self destruction. Do you know Hero what ypu have unleashed? It is not simply a fairy.. you bring ruin to this world!”

Drawing his axe, The Satyr raised it as he prepared to gallop,
“Only your blood can undo what you have done!”

Acantho charged like a bull, Link rolling as he swung, the axe head swinging close to his cheek and cutting a lock of his golden blond hair off. Acantho’s axe dug into door, and he tore it in two as he drew it and turned, his eyes aflame.

“Were there no fair maidens you could woo? Must you throw the gauntlet before the gods in this abomination!”

Link raised his shield for another charge, collision of the axe and extension of his arm threw the Hero into air and into a cart that collapsed. Fay drew her hand and pointed the pink finger nails at Acantho, a beam of magenta struck him and he was frozen as stone. She then floated over to Link,
“Quick! We must flee! The stasis will not hold him permantely!”

Link rose from the rubble and splintered wood. Fay grabbing his hand as she soared, the inhabitants of Kakariko Village as she held The Hero Time close to her boosom, her face was full of woe.

In the Square the stationary spell that held The Satyr still began to wain and he stirred. Seeing her fly away he let out a primal cry,
“I will find you Fay! I will find you! There is no place you can run that I will not give chase! No place you can go to escape my shadow! I will move the sacred realm and this this world from their places to possess you!”

Part VI: THE LAST HAND

Link began to stir as he felt his body shake, the strong scent of smoke rousing him further as he awoke at the summit of Death Mountain. Grabbed for a hand hold, when he noticed he was resting on cloth and great thigh. His head became wet as he looked up, and saw Fay eye was red from tears.
“Oh my Hero.. forgive me..”
Link stood to his feet, gazing up into her great face, he mustered the words burning in his mind.
“Ha-ret! Who was that?!”

The Great Fairy lowered her hand to him, seeking his touch, to sooth him.
“You are angry.. I understand.. I am sorry I kept from you..”

Link interrupted,
“By the Great Deku Tree I am furious! What did he mean by ‘consequences’ and the ‘ruin of the world’?’l”

Fay let out a great sigh as she withdrew her hand.
“We Great Faires in our fountains hold back Doomsday..”

Link blinked,
“Wait.. you mean the end of the world?!”

She gave a nod.
“Our purpose is to keep life in this world flowing, and stall the final curtain.”

Link placed his face in his leathee gauntlet hands.
“What have I done?!”

Fay placed her finger around him like pillars and rubbed his shoulders.
“I should have told you.. I wanted to see this world.. and I..”

Link as he drew his hands from his face did not notice they were caste in shadow, he turned to her.
“We have to return you to Kokiri, to your fountain at once!”

Fay shook her head,
“It’s too late.. the sanctuary collapsed remember.”

The Hero let out a cry,
“Ha-ret et!!!”

It echoed down below in Eldin, and among the fissures of rock where the Goron did stock.

Link sat down and crossed his arms. The Great Fairy seeing that a shadow fell over them looked to the sky, and saw The Moon, she placed her fingers over her right eyebrow to shade from the sun, when she saw two pair of golden yellow eyes with black slits like Lizalfo on the Great Grey Orb, two holes for a great nose, and teeth framed in grimace of menace.

“Oh no.. the clock has begun.. Link..”

The Hero Time despite being grown spoke as a child,
“Go away.. leave me be.”

Fay’s great eyes welled with more titanic tears,
“Where shall I go?”

Link shouted,
“Anywhere! Throw yourself into this mountain for all I care!”

Shedding another great drop that she caught with her palm, The Great Fairy then withdrew from the side of the mountain and levitated above the smokey opening of the volcano. Coughing she descended deep inside and there was an eruption! Molten balls of rock flew into the sky, landing upon the grounds below. Link did not move, he had become captive to despair and conducted himself as the Kokiri Kid he had been. He had drawn but a dial, the hour hand with the pull of that sword and turned the clock forward he thought to adulthood, it turned out he had turned to the last hour, the end of everything…

Part VII: DE LUNA DOOMA

The Hero sat at the summit, he felt his fumes were one with the mountain. He felt tricked by The Great Fairy. Looking up he saw The Moon, its gaze foreboding what was to come. How had it come to this? He had saved Hyrule before, defeated the Gerudo King, and restored the world only for it to fall apart because of his visit to a Fairy…

Leaning back Link saw something, a star falling from The Moon, it was approaching as Din had to these lands once before. All around it a great golden flame as it struck the side of Death Mountain. The Hero was curious so he climbed down and found a great gray rock with liquid oozing out of holes out of it. The Hero drew near to this cauldron from above, as he reached out the charcoal liquid spewed out on him and began to stretch across his body ad he cried out,
“Ha-ret!”

Link fell on the ground, crawling out of the crator as he body was being consumed by this tar substance. The last to be paintee in the ink of gray was his mouth as he took a final breath and all went dark. How long was he encased? There was no way to know, save that the next moment he awoke breathing heavily and sat up, taking his hand to his mouth and checking his body. He saw the fallen rock was there glowing as gold. The Hero drew his sword and shield as he stood at a distance, when a voice echoed back to him from the holes,
“Ha-ret!”

Was this an echo? The Hero drew closer, holding up the Hylian Shield, its blue and silver with the marks of red and a golden Triforce in the center left like a talisman.

The Gray Liquid began to pour out of the holes once more, making Link retreat back, his memory of its suffocating effect still haunting his mind. When it drew back and took shape, swirling above the rock as a figure took shape with deep gray skin, hair, a cape and tunic. The gray lids opened to reveal great yellow eyes as this being stood, its legs forming and boots settling on its globus. This Elf took a breath, drawing like a wind sir into its lungs as it bent forward. It then exhaled which threw The Hero back and almost down Death Mountain as he hung on, gripping the edge of the crater.

The Gray Elf came forth from its lair and looking down at Link he touched with his dark gray gauntlet hand the Master Sword and forming in his hand was dark pommel that took shape into a hilt with a glowing gilded blade. Holding the weapon aloft, the Dark Elf then looked down and pointed the tip as it thrusted. Link let go and began to tumble down the Mountain, his eyes as he rolled seeing The Being standing triumphantly as if Death Mountain was its throne.

Part VIII: VIVA LA VOLVAGIA

The fall from the top of Death Mountain filled every part of Link's joints with pain. The arrival of the Moon Colored Mimic made him consider just laying there, body bruised, and heart broken. Inside the great mountain of fire was The Great Fairy, who had doomed them all just to taste what he considered ordinary. Ironic, he had come to her fountain to find some sense of wonder, and she found wonder in the world that had grow gray to him. And now it needed saving once more..

The Hero sat up as he coughed, expelling the dust from his lungs. He looked above at the great smoke ring that circled the mouth of the Mountain as a halo. He felt its heart beat which shook the earth that he was poised against. The Moon glared down at him in the daylight, a most unnatural sight. What was to be done? The Fountain could not be restored. And even if by some miracle they did erect a new one, would Fay even take her place as a guardian against the calamity? Perhaps it was best to let it all end. Had he not already rescued this world from the dark future of Ganon. Why must he rise once more to save it? It was then that a ray of sunshine fell on his cheek, and he turned his gaze away from the grimace of the Falling Moon. He saw the sun shining brightly. Every day without fail it rose to give light to Hyrule, its feat thankless and expected by the inhabitants of this world. That was when Link finally understood, he was the sun and the calamities that befell him and this kingdom was the Moon. If he did not try, there would be no more sunrises, and those who expected to be bathed in light would be lost in darkness forever.

Getting up, The Hero looked up and decided to climb. Every muscle was riven with pain, and yet he surmounted the gaps, making his way to the top, there looking down into the Great Brazer, a cloud of smoke rising upward, he closed his eyes and held out his hands. With a step he fell in the smoke trail down into belly of the Mountain..

Using his Longshot, Link fired the chain to catch a nearby wall and swung to land before a great gate of rock. Therein he heard the sound of weeping. He followed the bereaved sound till he came into a cavern, where he saw her, hunged over a great pool of magma.
Link shouted,
"Fay! I am sorry.. do not go away!""

She turned her head, her great eyes dripping with the dew of deep sorrow. She then leapt down into the flames.
"Nooooooooo!"
Link ran with all due haste and came to edge where he saw a great tunnel, and he taking some steps back decided to leapt. He fell once more, and tumbled down further into the under earth. For a time there was nothing save shadow. There in the dark he sought some point of reference to press on, when he saw a faint glow of orange light. As he came closer the light magnified till he was in a great room of fissures of orange, they appeared as roots of fire, that went in all directions. Link turned his head, his cap swaying as he searched for her, his heart beating greatly, when there was growl and suddenly tunneling out of the many holes of magma was the beast with two gnarled black horns, and eyes of foulest green, its body was as a serpent of flame, and as great as Deku Tree. He could hear Fay struggling, she was bound to its tail.

Link shouted, "Fay! I will save you!""

She cried out to him,
"I thought you wished I was no more.."

The Hero unsheathing his sword and holding up his shield for battle said,
"I was a fool! I love you Fay!"

The Great Fairy gasped as she watched Her Hero leapt into the air and swing his blade mightly, it cutting at the throat of this Fire Drake. The Dragon snarled and let a stream of fire from its throat, which Link evaded by rolling. Passing by him, Fay reached out her hand, his pink finger nail fingers nearly touching his, He reached and touched them with his, but was unable to get a hold. Volvagia entered another great hole in the wall, and Link had to anticipate from which other opening he would arise, he felt a tremble nearby on the floor, and he made haste to it, where as its charred head rose out, Link slashed, digging the blade in the neck and holding on as he was taken into the air. The Fire Beast shrieked, its great peridot eyes looking at him as he kicked at them. He then began to run along the serpentine body, towards Fay who was coiled up in the tail.

He took the broken Goron blade and cut at the black threads that held her, tendrils.
"You love me?"
All this peril, and that was what she wanted to ask him, that was what consumed her heart.
Link looking at her sweet face said,
"I do. You are my wife after all, remember."

She gave a great smile, the freckle on her face rose up from wrinkles of the breadth of her smile. She then began to use her magic to try and help him, and at last the tail tendrils broke and she flew off, landing on the ground, as did Link who dropped his broken sword. The Master was still lodged in the Death Mountain's Guardian. He was coming round about, and a great stream of fire was flowing from his mouth, Link pushed Fay out of the way and took the fire, let out a cry, "Ha-ret! Et!" He then grabbed one of the horns that swept to gore him, and he held on. His tunic was scorched and his cap on fire. The Hero hung on as he saw the handle of the Master shining with its purple. He leapt and grabbed hold of it and drew it out as he fell, the Fire Drake giving chase as it snapped and clawed at him, he thrusted the blade into its head as it cried out, and a beam of pink struck Volvagia in mouth before he could cover Link in more coals of fire. Link slashed at the neck, and the Beast began to fall, as spines of fire began to snuff out and it hurled like a ball of fire down. Fay raised her hand to steady them, and catching Link, the Dragon crashed into one of the holes and fell into endless shadow.

Fay drew Link to her cheek and planted he enormous lips on him, covering his whole face.
"My Hero!"

Then the entire earth began to shake, and rising up in blazing geysers from the many holes was molten lava. Link stood on his Hylian Shield as Fay began to float up, the shield burned his boots and he shouted. Fay grabbed him and began to fly. Great rocks of fire shot past her from many directions and she held Link tight to her bosom and said,
"Hang on!"

Out of the Peak a great eruption of fire rose up with massive rocks flung down upon the realm of Eldin. This was sustenance of the Goron, who emerged from their holes to partake of the feast. Fay held Link on her knees on a nearby mountain as she and he watched the celebration. Link looking up into her eyes said,
"You can fly.."

She smirked,
"Well I am a Fairy."

Part IX: CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF ROMANCE

Fay took her beloved into the clouds, this to obscure The Doom that watched over them. Link held out his arms and said,
"This is amazing!"

The Great Fairy gave that sweet laugh and said,
"It is a beautiful world! These puffs tickle!"

Link laughed and said,
"Clouds. We call them clouds."

She repeated Him,
"Clouds! Oh look how far up we are!"

Link instinctively grabbed grabbed her arm more tightly. She leaned her hand against his, and said,
"I got you my love. I will not let you fall."

The Great Fairy soared across the horizon, the Sun shining in its brilliance, while all along, The Moon and its menance followed. Below the world was unaware of the final stroke of the clock poised to chime. In this moment Fay and Link banished the gloom of this doom from their minds and delighted in the merriment of each other. They came to waterfall that fell into Lake Hylia, and Fay descended as if to skate her body over it, letting them see the fish that were swimming to their new home. Her very presence seemed to speed them and give them the courage to press on to the grounds where little fishes would be born. Fairies helped in this process of life, and yet so many of them did not get to experience it, save at great risk and harm to all involved. Fay had made that gamble, and in her heart she felt the seed of regret growing, to enjoy a taste of this vita, she had doomed it all. It seemed unfair, and yet she did not despair, Link was her guiding light, he despite getting angry with her braved the flames and defeated a fire drake. If anyone could help her make things right, it would be The Hero of Time.

They landed out on an island in middle of Lake Hylia, its lush greenry felt a second home to Fay. Link almost camoflaged in his matching tunic, only his bright blond locks made him stand out. There reclining on some moss, Fay sat and looked at him as he took survey of the lake. He had not just pledge his love, he even called her wife.. this made her heart beat with fluttering of the magenta butterflies that now surrounded her. Link saw them and was amazed, he smiled as he looked at her, all life seemed to swirl around her. Perhaps that was the answer, her zest for every breath that could betide and forstall the Doom that lurked above. He would help her in this quest, not only to save Hyrule, to save her. She deserved a life too, not to be some prisoner of a Fountain. He would plead the case in the Sacred Realm, before The Golden Goddesses if he had to.

Link broke the silence,
"Want to swim with me?"

Fay blushed, as he took off his top shirt, revealing chisteled blocks of flesh that were muscle that had had formed on his torso in his many fights and training as a Hero. He rolled up his legging to make shorts and plunged into the waters. The Great Fairy took off her cloak and leapt into the water, causing a great splash that formed a wave that carried Link on a piece of wood he had found like board. He was laughing when Fay came back to the surface, and the two swam closer to one another.

Fay giggled and said,
"I have never been in a body of water this big before!"

Link smirked,
"That fountain was a pond, this is what you belong in! Free to go where you please!"
He splashed at her, and she in kind splashed back until they circled each other.

"Link.. even if everything ends.. I do not regret my decision.. to be with you." Fay's eyes were so full of warmth and tenderness. Her words spoken so softly.

He nodded as they floated,
"Me too, if the world ends, what better reason than for love?"

The two kissed, and then returned to the island, where they leaned against a rock as they dried. Link rested his head on her lap as she pet his gilded hair. She began to ponder something, an act of magick she had wanted to preform from the beginning. The cost however was dear...

I know I haven't been commenting much, but I am reading every chapter as you update. I am loving this fic so far. Do you have AO3 or Wattpad?
I am so glad you are enjoying it. Your words are what I needed to hear after a rotten day.
I had Wattapad but it got hacked. I have not tried AO3, is that the one where its your hub of writings and you can then post in all over the place?
