The 20th Zelda game

Breath of the Wild will be Zelda's 19th game. (Unless i cant count)

19 is a good number but 20 is a milestone. Do you think Nintendo will make something special out of the 20th game?

No idea what they could do, other than tell us that 'hey this is the 20th Zelda'

But do you guys think anything may be said or made out of the 20th Zelda outing?

I'm not sure a remake would make it all that special I mean most probably everyone on this site has played OOT so the game holds no suprises for anyone and the only thing different about it would be the graphics and to me that doesn't make it special

I've been thinking about this too. I don't think it'll be a remake, as if you include remakes, there's already over 20 Zelda games. Maybe they'll make another Link Between Worlds type of game (as in overhead, 2D, etc...), but with the same map as the first Zelda game. So, not a remake, but rather a re-imagining of Zelda I, analogous to ALBW/ALttP. That would be awesome in my book, as I love the traditional 2D Zeldas, and would be awesome in general, as the world of Zelda I is quite expansive anyway, and probably rather easy to update into a more modern form. Another thing they could do is casually mention the number 20 in the game, much like how in Skyward Sword, they celebrate the 25th anniversary of the school.

I bet they won't even realise it's the 20th Zelda. The count gets weird anyway with all the remakes.

Breath of the Wild and the Nintendo Switch are already insane developments in the Zelda world. Not sure what else they could do.

I don't think they'll do anything in particular. They're more about celebrating how many years a franchise has been around, rather than how many games of it has been released.

Isn't Breath of the Wild itself 20 though...?
Unless you didn't count Hyrule Warriors, and I guess that game isn't canon so maybe.
Anyways, I, too, doubt they'll do much. It's a milestone, yes, but I think game number isn't worth celebrating as much as anniversaries, and, well... you saw how much they did for the 30th anniversary.

Maybe the 20th Zelda game still be the first handheld game (besides OoT3D) to be a 3D game!

Oh wait... now that I think about it, that title's going to go to Breath of the Wild. If the Switch takes off, all future 3D Zelda titles will.

I don't count Hyrule Warriors since it's a side game, but I do count both Four Swords games and Tri Force Heroes as main series games so that would make Breath of the Wild 19.
