Switch Pro Controller

I've been using the Joycon/grip but finally considering getting the Pro. However my local retailer sells the Nintendo brand for $70 and PowerA brand for $25-35 (depending on the skin).

So my question, not really wanting to throw $70 at a controller, is the PowerA brand reliable, top quality?

and most third-party controllers are not wireless. So check first if you need any of the missing functionality before you buy a cheaper controller, you may regret it.

although 70€/$ is a lot of money for a controller, it is a really good one. I haven't tried it yet but you could also connect it to a PC if you'd like.

I recommend PowerA controllers. I initially bought one for use with Dark Souls, but I've come to prefer the larger analog sticks. No motion controls and no rumble are certainly downsides, but the controller costs $25, so I consider it a fair trade-off.
