SSHD (SS) (Switch) I Think My Game Is Broken

I'm at the part in the Sandship where you have to figure out the lock combination. I've hit bottom, top, bottom, right multiple times and the door won't open. Am I missing something?

I usually try reversing things if they don't work. like in this case, top, bottom, top, left. If that doesn't work, go through different combos: v^v>, v^v<, etc.

Make sure you do it fast. A few sec is all it takes to reset things. I solved the puzzle last week. The combo is right. Did you by any chance use the guster on the sand? Because sometimes, even when you already know a combo, the game still wants you to discover the combo in game before you can use it.
