omg, the Master Sword features the same upgrades in ALBW as it did in ALttP: Hero Sword/Fighter Sword, Master Sword, Tempered Sword, and Golden Sword!

However, in ALBW, to obtain the upgrades you must bring two Master Ore to the Blacksmith in Hyrule for each upgrade! That is four for a total of two upgrades! Now I will reveal to you peasants the locations of the Master Ore:

Master Ore Is a new type of Collectable found in several dungeons in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Replacing items normally found in a dungeon's big chest, Master Ore can be used to upgrade the Master Sword. Once Link has obtained 2 Master Ore, the Blacksmith of Hyrule can temper his Master Sword, turning it red and dealing more damage. When 2 more Master Ore have been obtained, the Blacksmith of Lorule will notice Link's weapon and offer to further temper it, turning it golden and dealing the most damage possible.

1. In Lorule’s Graveyard, lift the isolated large boulder to reveal a staircase. Follow the mini-dungeon and you’ll end up in the Cave Sanctuary. Merge with the wall and move as far right as possible and you’ll reach a large chest containing Master Ore.

2. In the Skull Woods Dungeon. After reaching the 2nd eyeball near the end of the dungeon you’ll see a large chest on a very narrow platform. Merge with the wall ad move towards the platform and open the chest for a Master Ore.

3. In the Thieve’s Hideout. After lowering the water level with the Thief Girl, make your way to the two floor switches on the bottom-left of the room to reveal a long corridor with red rupees and a big chest at the end containing Master Ore.

4. In the Dark Palace. On the top floor with the 6 windows, place a bomb by the lower switch and quickly merge with the top wall’s upper-half with the Boss’s face on it. You’ll go into a room with a large chest containing a piece of Master Ore.
