I dont think you can farm them. Some side quests (or at least one) reward you with them. Otherwise you have to wait until night and chase them down. Ive not heard of them coming from anywhere else.

Hmmm that's annoying as the amiibo specific gear need them to be upgraded at the upgrad fairy.

The hero of the wild tunic also needs them for upgrades.

Yep you are correct. That's also some of the gear you can get from the amiibo.

Star fragment. Needed to upgrade amiibo gear (you can find this gear without amiibo too though).
