How far would you say i would be after the sandship dungeon? I'm progressing quite a bit today.

probably almost 3/4 of the way,

Spoiler: not actual spoilers but a slight heads up

there's still a couple dungeons after and plenty of stuff in b/w

Hey just a quick update, i really enjoyed the lead up to Sandship dungeon and also really enjoyed the dungeon.

It was a pleasant surprise as I originally put the game on hold as I dreaded returning to the desert. I always find desert locations in games kinda boring.

However, i adored the pirate theme mixed with time travel. Easily my favourite part of the game. Its given me a bit of a boost and now i'm trying to beat the 3rd secret realm trial.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and info, i'm going to try and aim to beat Skyward Sword before the new year.

Just arrived at the Fire sanctuary. Going to try and get that done today.

Glad to get that robot escort mission out of the way.

Ah still a way to go.

I beat the fire sanctuary and just done the 2nd imprisoned fight.

Hoping to get to the final dungeon today before things get busy for Christmas but not sure if that's too ambitious.

Im having a bit of a bad time with the final fight against demise.

On the second phase i never feel i have time to charge my lightning attack. Hes way to fast. Worst off all i find the fatal blow a nightmare to pull off. Its so awkward and unresponsive.

Getting a bit frustrated and dont really want to have to refight all the bosses just to get a shield.

My best advice would be to just get an iron shield and upgrade it a bunch. That should be enough to get you through the battle (trust me, I did NOT feel like going through all those bosses again either).

If you get good at the shield bash timing you could beat him easily. You don’t even need to charge up the lightning attack

Another trick you can do is to use potions. Especially guardian potions which makes you invincible for 3 minutes. It'll reduce your damage significant so you can easily make your way through the battle or the first part ( when the 3 minutes are ip and you still fight Demise) which will be very helpful to go through everything else

I just finished Skyward Sword. What a journey its been...

In the time I started this game my 2 month old son wasn't even born.

I look back fondly on this game even if i did have issues with it.

Anyway here are my pros and cons after finishing:

Pros:
- some incredible dungeons. I especially loved the pirate themed Sandship
- the time travel puzzles were incredible
- i really liked the Skyloft hub
- I loved the trio relationship of Link, Zelda and Groose
- i have a huge appreciation now for what Breath of the wild owes to this game

Cons:
- wasn't a fan of the secret realms
- I found the button controls a mixed bag. The camera control was arkward, trying to roll or do a final blow was an absolute nightmare!!!
- Fi is a bit robotic and bland compared to the more interesting Midna
- Way too many trials, it got tedious
- The game can have really poor pacing in places which led to burnout
- the game recycles locations and gameplay elements alot!!! I lost count how many times I backtracked between them

Overall i'm glad i finished it
