It's another term for the soft pvc figurines, like the keychains that came out with TP a few years ago.
Nintendo usually releases a set or two in Japan around the time of the release date. However I am not so sure we will be seeing SS ones anytime soon or else we would have seen them by now. Normally they start appearing about a month or at least two weeks before the game comes out.
