At the start of the Switch's lifespan, Nintendo Switch Online was free for the first few months before becoming paid to ease people into the idea of paying for online on Nintendo systems.
Nintendo users tend to be younger than players on other systems, and there is going to be a new group of kids starting gaming on the Switch's successor so offering free online once more for the first few months may get them hooked and keep them subscribing.
Or perhaps the alternate strategy of offering a few months of free online when you buy within the first year or so can be offered.
What are your thoughts?
Do you think Nintendo will offer a free online promotion of some kind, and do you think they should? Or was that a one time thing for the Switch only as Nintendo's first paid online system?
