Shiny Hunting Made Easy

The folks at the GamesRadar YouTube channel have been VERY helpful with X & Y news across the board, but today (as of this post), they've released a video showing how to make shiny hunting much easier. It's not a cheat, it's not an exploit: it's a regular game mechanic. If you don't know about it already, it's a device called the Pokeradar.

Were you aware of how frustrating shiny hunting was before?

Before? You mean in 2002? Poke Radar existed in Gen IV. For some reason it wasn't in Gen V but this isn't something new.

I missed out on both of those generations, so I wouldn't know.

Uhm, yeah, Xyphon has it right. The Poké Radar isn't anything new, and this shiny hunting method is quite a few years old; however, it's probably been refined since the release of X and Y. Besides the video you linked, there's also this helpful image:

Another thing that they didn't mention that you need to know is that you cannot leave grass when trying to chain. That will break the chain as well.
