Breath of the Wild Rumor or Truth?

I read this comment on a site. The person was saying it as though it were a fact and not speculation.

"It's link's brother. Link was killed by the primary antagonist and his brother takes up his shield for revenge. In light of said revenge, the protagonist gets caught up in the triforce debacle."

If this is true this really ticks me off that people have to go and ruin it for others.

Thank goodness. The reason I get so upset over these rumors is because a while back a new game came out and I was reading the youtube comments and someone said the ending and it turned out to be true. So everytime I read what someone writes about the story I tend to believe it.

I can't express how happy I am that it's only a theory.

If you want to avoid spoilers, avoiding comment sections (especially on Youtube) would be a smart idea :yes:

Do you really think some commenter from some random site is going to know that kind of information already? That's rather silly, Nintendo has never worked that way, letting major plot details like that leak this early. In fact they may still not even have the whole plot fleshed out yet, so even if it was a leak (which I doubt) it would be subject to change. So don't worry, you haven't been spoiled, unless his wild guess somehow turns out to be right, but it's as likely to be correct as me saying that that was Link's second half-cousin.

Comments like that should beg the question, "What is the likelyhood of such a thing occurring, especially given how absurd such a proposition is? Also, why would such a dumb plot point occur in a game series such as this?"

Then you relax and watch the new Zelda trailer for the twenty-fifth time. Ah, such is life.

If Link's younger brother is the main playable character, then why can't HE be Link and the older brother have his own name? Link will always be the main character, that's why his name is Link.
