New information for OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire has been leaked from the CoroCoro magazine! We got more information on Gym Leaders, Elite 4, and Pikachu!

Starting from the first screenshot, we can see how the the Pokédex will appear for OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire and seems heavily based on the design of the GameBoy Advance which references the exact same handheld system when Ruby/Sapphire were first announced! We also get to see the updated art style of Professor Birch. It's great to finally see him in the updated art style of OR/AS. We also get get to see some Pikachu in very unique designs known as Madame Pikachu and Hard Rock Pikachu. On the second screenshot we get to see Idol Pikachu Doctor Pikachu, and Masked Pikachu. These Pikachu are actually related to the contests that Ruby/Sapphire originally introduced which means that we will be getting contests in the remake games aswell! These two screenshots also confirm that Pokémon Amie will be returning once again!

One fourth, fifth, and sixth screenshots we get to see several Gym Leaders and Elite 4 members! From the Gym Leaders we have the following: Roxanne, Brawly, Wattson, Flannery, and Norman. Each of them are shown off with the Pokémon that are iconic to their respective type specialty. That's five of the eight Gym Leaders from Hoenn. Winona, Tate & Liza, either Wallace or Juan but since this is a remake and not a continuation like Pokémon Black and White 2 where to Black and White, it would make sense that Wallace will be the eighth Gym Leader for the remake. As for the Elite 4, we get to see Sidney and Phoebe who are the first two Elite 4 members that you battle. Both of them are shown with Shiftry and Dusknoir respectively. I found this weird since Sidney is usually seen with an Absol and Phoebe with a Dusclops or Bannete. While investigating these screenshots, something did catch my attention when it comes Sidney and Phoebe. Here's what I found:

From the looks of it, it seems that Sidney and Phoebe are potentially holding their own Mega stones. If that's the case, it is very possibly tht every member of the Elite 4 will potentially have a Mega Pokemon. Then there's this twitter page that posted about the speculation with Sidney and Phoebe.

Hopefully we can receive official conformation of these rumors or speculations on OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire. CoroCoro Magazine also stated that more information will be revealed during next month's installment.

The Pikachus. They look so dumb I swear.

Anyways, I'm liking how the gym leaders are looking, especially Brawly, who's looking fabulously sporty.

It seems that CoroCoro has also revealed new information that was posted in its Japanese forums revolving around Mega Diancie, who will be making its debut in Pokémon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire versions. It appears that Mega Diancie's ability will be Magic Bounce. This ability has been given to several other Mega Pokémon such as Mega Absol and Mega Sableye. In the screenshot below, we also get to see certain events that will be taking placing in the new Pokémon movie Diancie & The Cocoon of Destruction which will be airing later on this month.

CoroCoro has also stated that next month's issue, which will be for release August 2nd, will be featuring in that they are calling a "Mega Evolution Scoop". Judging for that statement alone, it seems we are going to get a better detail look on all of the previous Mega Evolution Pokémon that are going to debut in OR/AS while possibly revealing new Mega Evolutions in the next installment of the Japanese magazine. With almost four months before the global release of OR/AS, the flood gates are starting to open up! Also, new screenshots will be posted soon so stay tuned!

These remakes look really cool! Ahaha, poor Pikachu xD

The visuals look really nice. I especially like the screenshots of the Beautifly flying around in the overworld, making it a little more realistic and interactive.

The ability for Mega Metagross has been revealed by CoroCoro magazine this morning! When Metagross Mega Evolves it will gain the ability Tough Claws. Tough Claws is an ability that was introduced in Gen VI with only four Pokémon obtain that ability. These Pokémon include: Mega Charizard, Mega Aerodactyl, Binacle, and Barbaracle. This means that Mega Metagross will be the fifth Pokémon to obtain this ability. Considering the design of Mega Metagross, this makes perfect sense as its claws do indeed looked sharpened after Mega Evolving. During battle, Tough Claws will boost the power of that makes contact by 33%. Contact or direct attack is a term from whether a move is physical or special in nature. Most moves that makes contact are physical, while the majority of special moves do not make contact; status moves also do not make contact. Contact-based moves may trigger various abilities of the opponent such as Cute Charm, Effect Spore, Static, or Flame Body just to name a few. These moves may also trigger certain items, and can also be used to spread the Pokérus. Hitting a substitute does not make contact with the Pokémon behind it. Also note that the move Ancient Power makes contact in Generation III only. By clicking on the links, you may view a list of what physical moves do not make contact and special moves that do make contact.

Going back to Mega Metagross, having the ability Tough Claws is huge for this Pokémon. Considering that Metagross a physical attacker, Tough Claws will make it even terrifying during battle. Most if not all movesets pertaining to Metagross focus on his high 135 base Atk stat and capitalize on it! Now that we know what is the abilty for Mega Metagross, this surely make him a very well-used Mega Pokémon when OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire arrive this November!

You shut your mouth!

JJ, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I personally don't like the contests but I'm glad to at least seem them again. Some people like some things of a generation of Pokemon, others may not like the same things that you may like. I know how much you like Gen III but please refrain from attacking others, even you meant to be playful. Granted simply from the structure of the sentence it seems quite the opposite. This will be your only warning however as throughout the course of this thread, we never had a problem like this until now. You have been warned and do I find another incidence like this, I'm going to have to use the report button. I'm sorry but this thread is meant to discuss about speculation, footage, and what we as fans would like to see in OR/AS. It's not a thread to see who is right or wrong because we don't exactly everything about the game other than the fact that it is a remake of Ruby/Sapphire with the engine of XY. Please understand where I'm coming from what I stated above.

In the footage of the trailer, we get have an in-depth look on the Gym Leaders, Elite 4, Pikachu cosplays, Secret Bases. From the start, we see Norman, Roxanne, Brawly, Wattson, and Flannery in that order. What's weird is that Norman was the first one to be shown off considering he's the fifth Gym Leader in Ruby/Sapphire. This sequence is probably based on what gym you encounter first throughout the course of the game as Petalburg City is the first area in the game to have a gym where your father Norman is the head of that gym. Next, we got to see the first two Elite 4 members that you will face, Sidney and Phoebe. Sidney is a Dark-Type specialist while Phoebe is a Ghost-Type specialist. On the footage, Sidney is using a Shiftry to battle while Phoebe gets a brand new Pokemon in this Dusknoir, the final evolution to Duskull and Dusclops. The third that was part of the trailer was the five Pikachu that are relating to the contents that will take place in OR/AS. These Pikachu are known as Pikachu Belle, Pikachu Rock Star, Pikachu Pop Star, Pikachu Ph. D, Pikachu Libre respectively. As mentioned earlier, secret bases will be returning once again. It seems that there is going to be more customizations than ever as you can really make the base much more personal than in the original games. It is also worth mention that you can actually make you base like a gym in which you can design the base to be filled with obstacles before a friend can face the Gym Leader, in this case you.

Finally we get more information on Mega Metagross and Mega Diancie. Mega Diancie will receive a big boost to its Speed, as well as boosts in both its Attackand Sp. Atk, while experiencing a reduction in its Defense and Sp. Def. Mega Metagross on the other hand was previously stated that it would get a boost in its Speed stat prior to the trailer. However looking at the description from the official Pokemon website it reads the following message:
Mega Metagross also has a greatly increased Speed stat, with additional increases in its Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def, making Mega Metagross primed for both offense and defense.

I was all for Mega Metagross gaining Speed for it really needs it, but now that it gains Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def., AND Speed, Mega Metagross is going to be a terrifying Pokemon in the competitive scene. Smogon is probably having a discussion right now if Mega Metagross should be banned in competitive play.

It seems Arceus has blessed Canada because the nation will also be part of the global launch event of OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire on November 21st! Everyone will be receiving the game on November 21st while Europe will have to wait just another week to get their copies of the remakes on November 28th. Version exclusives will start to be announced so look out for more information!
