In the beginning, the countries Pantana and Sokken were loyal allies in the Great War. They helped eachother succeed in the most of dim of times. But when competition grew important the alliance broke and each country grew more and more desperate for power. Over time, their friendship dimished and due to a series of complications a war began between the two countries. Other countries in the continent of Hazan remain neutral but Northern tribes are beginning to join forces with the Sokken for personal benefits. The countries in the feud are Pantana and Sokken, each at different stages of technological advancement. However, in recent times Sokken are advancing in the war because of the Northern assistance and soon they will have the power to inevitably crush Pantana. Despite this growing power, Pantana continue to defend quite valiantly against the brutal attacks.

Twenty years before the current time, the assassination of Panatanian prince took place which sparked revolutions in the country of Pantana. In a butterfly effect, the Sokken government decided they would execute their first plan of attack against the Pantanians which resulted in them declaring war. And then in response to the falling government, the Sokken country reacted immediately with powerful forces rushing the north-eastern areas of Pantana and took control of a major stronghold in the mountains and to this day the area has not been reclaimed; however, due to terrain difficulties the Sokken army could not continue to this route but the Pantanians were forced to reroute their attacks.

Ten years later the revolutions were calmed as the system of government was changed to be less tyrannical. This calming of revolutions was key in allowing the Pantanians to rebuild their defences and focus more on the war at hand.

A recent outbreak in the North-Western areas of Pantana has caused the death of thousands of Soldiers and in a desperate attempt to finish off the stalemate, the Pantana military leaders have recruited a group of specialists to assist in destroying the stalemate and break through the barriers of Sokken in a series of espionage and military-based work. These specialists are skilled in their work and will be required to capture important enemy locations and leak information back to Pantana. This group of specialists is broken down into numerous groups, each different in their skills.

You are one of these specialists.

Olive is the OOC (out of character) color. It's preferred you do not read each others' spoilers or at the very least do not use their information to your advantage.

Party 1:
Regal:
Your expertise in combat has lead you to be recruited as a combat specialist in the Pantanian Military Force. Despite having little memory of your past, you know fighting for the Pantanian army is the right path in your moral books. In a day's time you will be faced with a life changing challenge in which you must kiss goodbye your loved-ones and begin your mission involving military and espionage based work in Sokken territory.

However, before your mission continues you are sent to a quiet town near the north-east parts of Pantana. The town is ridden with monsters and was rapidly deserted due to its close proximity to the Sokken stronghold; few people currently live in this town. When you enter the town you notice a distinct smell of rotting corpses and other miscellaneous foul stenches. The roads are broken down and it presents itself to be very barren with little plant life. The only thing you can hear is murmuring and the sound of a brawl going on in one of the broken down huts. You feel an eerie presence around you.

You decide to enter the building. Inside you see a a few people watching a brawl between a ogre-like human and a powerful, tall man. The ogre-like guy appears to be losing horribly and a group of people, presumably locals, circling the fight are cheering on the man, placing wagers on his victory. Outside the layer of locals is a group of warriors who appear much more civilized but some also armed with deadly weapons. You see a strong looking warrior bearing a sword and shield, a priest wielding a staff and a thief who appears to be very agile.

Khotno:
Your expertise in healing has lead you to be recruited as a specialist in the Pantanian Military Force. Your past hasn't always been the kindest to you but you know assisting the Pantanian Army is the right place to put your abilities. In a day's time you will be faced with a life changing challenge in which you must kiss goodbye your loved-ones and begin your mission involving military and espionage based work in Sokken territory.

You've been sent to a quiet town in the north-east valleys of Pantana. The village is ridden with monsters and bandits and it's your duty to stabilize the lost cause of a town. As you enter the village you're engulfed by a foul stench around the area and a noise resonating from a small, broken-down hut. You feel as if you're being watched.

Eventually you enter the hut and find a group of men chanting and placing bets all standing on a circle. After asking, apparently you find out there is a brawl happening. A smaller, ogre-like human is subject the taunting of a large, muscular man who appears to be the "leader of the pack." Around the group there is a thief-like person who seems to be very quick on his feet and a warrior wielding a sword standing in the corner. You turn around at the sound of the door opening behind you and a mage steps in. He appears skilled and must be another one of the specialists who were staying in the miniscule town.

Maxxy:
Your expertise in combat has lead you to be recruited as a combat specialist in the Pantanian Military Force. The ability you possess to fight so well in combat has put you up the ranks in the military and you have earned a superfluity of awards. At first you were a mere recruit but due to your dedication you have soared to the ranks of a specialist warrior. In a day's time you will be faced with a life changing challenge in which you must kiss goodbye your loved-ones and begin your mission involving military and espionage based work in Sokken territory.

A small town in the upper-right reaches of Pantana, which was once a booming area, has in the past fallen to wild monsters because of Sokken stronghold pressures to the north. You've arrived there in the morning and witnessed the true brutality that it is. People wager on each other to pound the opposition to the death and you simply find it ridiculous that they live in such a murky and filthy environment. Your first impression of the town was that of disgust: the foul stenches in the area almost make one faint. The most lively place is a small, broken-down hut in which the fights take place. You feel as if you're being watched.

After entering the large room, you're initially surprised how spacious it is on the inside compared to how it looks on the outside. As the day continues to watch as different individuals enter the area. A majority of them are humans of poor socio-economic status who seemingly have nowhere else to live and the other few appear to be individuals who don't talk a lot but are as equally as skilled as you. You assume they are other specialists of the Pantanian Military Force. The first to enter after you was a thief wielding a sword similar to your's: the first signal he was a specialist was his blade which struck a very close resemblance to your sword. It was undoubtedly a military-assigned weapon. He remained quiet for the large majority of the time. The next to enter was a priest wielding a staff; the priest was definitely not a regular in this town. Before the last person entered, a fight had begun between a very muscular and brutish man and a smaller, ogre-like man. Apparently the larger was sure to win. Finally a mage entered the room - he appeared struck with the same initial thought as the rest of you: the disgusting smells. It'd probably be most beneficial to stick with these guys.

Kazumi:
Your expertise in theft, combat and movement has lead you to be recruited as a combat specialist in the Pantanian Military Force. When you first joined the military you had little idea how quickly you'd be assigned the role of a specialist. Perhaps they thought you to be fodder; perhaps they actually recognised your skill and potential - it was better not to know. In a day's time you will be faced with a life changing challenge in which you must kiss goodbye your loved-ones and begin your mission involving military and espionage based work in Sokken territory.

One more mission was assigned to you before you were to depart into enemy territory. You are to investigate a small, monster-ridden town in the north-east valleys of Pantana. After traveling on foot to your destination you're relieved that you no longer have to walk. As you enter the village you notice a disgusting odor emanating from the surrounding area. The liveliest place in the town appears to be a tiny, broken-down hut from which you hear the sound of brawling and cheering. Before you enter the hut, you get a bad feeling you're being spied on.

When you enter the small hut you're startled to see a man staring at you from the corner; however, your worries are quickly repelled as you notice that he doesn't appear to be a regular. His armor and sword signal that he is in fact another specialist in the Pantanian Military Force. Inside the hut men are wagering over who will win in a fight and attacking one another to no end. Right after a priest wielding a staff entered the room a large uproar began as a fight between a large, muscular man and a smaller, ogre-like man. Neither have weapons and both are equipped with poor armor. As the brawl begins, a mage enters the hut. You identify him as another specialist here for the same reason you area.

You are now free to talk with each other in the hut. Make parties if you please and make sure to introduce yourself.
Remember to put your character sheet at the start of every post. If necessary, quote it from the talk page and copy it over to start off with. From then on you can just quote it from the last, remembering to delete the
tags. PM me or speak up in the talk thread if you have any queries or concerns.
Party 2:
Your past hasn't been the kindest to you...
Due to your unusual kidnapping and mistreatment it put your body into a near-permanent state of shock. You knew you'd never be the same as anyone else. Because of this, you have become more impassive and neutral when dealing with people - a strength that you have cultivated as your time training as an exorcist. The Pantanian Military Force seemingly valued your skills highly: placing you amongst the most valiant of Pantanian soldiers as a Military Specialist. The road ahead of you will be tough.

Because you are a new recruit, you were assigned a mission in the north-east valleys of Pantanian. The area is ridden with monsters and has little life with it because it is situated too closely to a Sokken stronghold. When the area was claimed as Sokken territory, many people tried to flee; however, few actually survived. The details of the mission were sketchy, but involved some sort of investigation of the area. Your journey finally comes to halt as you step into the small village and you're struck by a foul stench in the air. Most of the noise in the town is coming from a small, broken-down hut from which you can hear chanting. You feel like you're being watched.

You look inside the hut from one of the windows. Even from the outside you can still spot numerous amounts of people despite there being blind spots. There appears to be a large, muscular man brawling with a weaker, ogre-like man on the inside. Around them is a group of assumable 'regulars' and interestingly there are roughly 4 others who seem very out of place. One is a priest wielding a staff, another is a mage standing near the priest, there is a more secluded warrior who appears to be very high up the ranks and finally a very deft looking thief, who appears very light on his feet. What will you do?

Character Story: The noble child of a forgotten family, escaped from the torching of his home around age sixteen. With just the items he could carry on his back, he made it to the nearest city. Trained well in the arts of stealth, speed, and a bit of magic, Kazumi lived his life on the streets, and built up his reputation as powerful thief and assassin. Even though he is a thief, always looking for a way to make more money, he is still a gentlemen at heart. When the call came for specialists, Kazumi was one of the first to answer. With the prospect of profit and adventure on the horizon, he sets out.

I glance around at the dimly lit hut around me. Pipe smoke hangs thick in the air, as is evident by how difficult it is to breath it the relatively cramped hut. As the shouting and chanting of the drunken regulars goes on, I motion with my hands for the other three specialists to come with me outside so we can talk.

"Hello there gentlemen, I hope that you all fair well," I greet them once we have escaped from the musky confines of the hut into the cool night air.

"My name is Kazumi, and I'll be one of your allies on this perilous quest of which we have been tasked with."

Her specialties are computers (She is brilliant at hacking and she had plenty of practice in the past) and solving puzzles.

Hey there guys. Siniru, please refer to the character sheet I gave you. HP/MP adds to 25, your attributes add to 0, your AP is currently 0, and I changed your items a bit. Also you need to signify the +1 evasion. Thanks! If you're confused with what to do you can just enter the building.

And yes, that's great Kazumi.

I'll be gone for the majority of the day (have to help the Grim Reaper because he's been stressed at work it being the apocalypse and all) so I'll wait for everyone to post first! Remember to quote your final character sheet from the creation thread.

Character Story:Introduced into his religious order early in life, Khotno grew up taught that violence was never an acceptable course of action. Although the powers his sect was blessed with could cause incredible harm if they so chose to, the most basic of tenets that they were sworn to uphold were utterly pacifistic in nature. However, one day, while witnessing a woman and her child being assaulted by a group of bandits, Khotno gave in to his most basic instinct. He used his power to destroy the men, thus saving the innocent citizens. Although he was thanked profusely by them, when he returned to his sect's sanctuary, he was refused entry. He was told that the wounds he bared were a clear sign that he had used his spells to harm, rather than to heal. As such he was no longer welcome among his brothers. Following this life-altering event, Khotno traveled the world, gaining experience and lending his abilities towards anyone with a cause he felt was determined. Although primarily a healer, he never forgot the other side of his powers, although their immense cost towards his own health meant he could only use them sparingly.

I take a quiet step back from Mion. No need to make any enemies just yet.

Party 1:
After having a brief discussion with the others, you realize that you are all here by the same means. Kazumi and Khotno introduce themselves and discuss amongst each other shortly as the group joins together. Suddenly, about 10 feet away, you hear a cracking of a branch from the ground from a girl's footsteps. She looks more like a child than an adult and she is wearing deep black clothing. Startled, you can't immediately identify if she is a threat

Suddenly you hear a devastating amount of screaming from the hut as people hastily bolt for the exit. In a matter of seconds people are running from the building like a flock of scared chickens. The apparent threat is a group of goblins inside smashing down the building and murdering humans. A single man is still inside, fighting back at the group of goblins. He wields a large battle axe and you recognize him as the muscular man who was fighting the ogre previously. There are roughly ten goblins, all wielding a weapon of some sort. What will you do now?

Party 2:
After a moment a group of people step outside. As you gain a clearer perspective you notice they are undoubtedly from the Pantanian Military Force and are probably here for the same reason as you. As you attempt to hear what they're saying, you crack a stick on the ground and you're instantly noticed by the group.

In a miraculous moment, the attention towards you is diverted as you hear the screaming and shouting of humans from inside the hut. You make it few words but in a matter of moments people are gushing out of the door screaming in fear. As you peek back through the window, there are goblins terrorizing the hut with the muscular man you saw previously attempting to ward them off by himself. There are roughly ten goblins inside, wielding crude daggers and other miscellaneous weaponry. What will you do now?

I hurriedly look around, weighing the options and trying to decide whether we should check out the crack in the bushes, or rush inside to help defeat the goblins.

"Quick, what do you guys think?" I ask in a rushed manner. "Perhaps half of us should investigate the bush and the other half go fight off the goblins?"

Not as important now since you're only deciding what to do but remember your character sheet when you're going into combat and such, Austin.

The noise in the bush was merely the darkly-dressed girl. She appears to be wearing some sort of exorcist uniform and at a closer glance she seems strikingly familiar - perhaps even a fellow specialist. As you go up to address her she acts shyly and you're distracted by the screaming and massacring inside the hut. The goblins are getting savage. The more silent fellows venture slowly into the hut. Will you fellow them?
Maxxy and Regal:
The other men suggested you investigate the goblin attack in the hut. You both do so carefully and before you go directly inside the others seem pretty much finished what they were doing. Will you wait for them or go straight into the combat area?

Party 2:

After brief discussion you come to a decision that you are to investigate the goblin attacks in the hut. The girl, who you now recognize as a young exorcist in the military force, dashes past you to join the brawl. Your group follows and inside you see the raiding of several goblins. The muscular man you saw previously is being mauled by goblins and looks close to unconsciousness.

I will be using random.org as opposed to an actual 1d20 for sake of fairness. Siniru was extremely lucky to have received the highest roll possible - a twenty - on her first roll.
If one rolls a twenty on their attacking dice, their attack will result in a critical hit provided the enemy does not dodge it. The formula for hitting an enemy is this:
1d20 + your accuracy modifier vs. 1d20 + enemy dodging modifier
Where 1d20 is the roll of a twenty-sided dice and if the former equation exceeds the latter, the attack will hit.
For archery/ranged, accuracy/attacking and dodging is also used; however, with spell casting it is casting vs. resistance instead.

@Siniru: You still need to assign 5 more stat points into your HP/MP, the total max allowed is 25 and yours only adds up to 20. Your attributes (power, dexterity, etc.) also still don't add up to 0. Please fix that! :) Because your attributes weren't correct this turn I just set your accuracy to 0 temporarily.

@All: For the first attacking phase the enemies won't fight back however on your next attack they will. ??? is the muscular man NPC and it is advised you don't let him die so quickly. If you have any concerns, make sure to bring them up.

20+0=20 vs. 12-1=11 --> HIT (6-1=5 DAMAGE)
Considering the goblins were unaware of your presence as of yet, you hit the goblin in the weak spot, doing large damage to it.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, the muscular man is being held down by two goblins while the Goblin General slashes at his chest with a hatchet.

11+3=14 vs. 8+3-5=6 --> HIT (5-1=4 DAMAGE)
Blood splatters and then oozes down the man's chest; he is extremely close to dying.

The rest of the enemy party is startled by your entrance and do not attack this turn.

Bio:
Mion Kamalot was found and taken from her home against her will to train as an Exorcist. The shock of it caused memory loss, so she does not remember her childhood or who her parents are. She is very stoic and unsociable, but has a giant heart to those in need. She is independent and is better solo than in a group. Her specialties are computers (She is brilliant at hacking and she had plenty of practice in the past) and solving puzzles.
