We used to have a swear filter opt-out which was enabled everywhere except the shoutbox. When we upgraded to a newer version of Xenforo we lost it, and as far as I'm aware there's currently no option for that but Jimmu would know better. In the meantime, if the asterisks annoy you, perhaps experiment with some more family-friendly vocabulary!

I know there was an old one, so that's why I asked. Thanks for the suggestion though.

It wouldn't kill people to swear less... not intentionally swearing does rewire your brain for the better, in my opinion, & I don't recommend making it a habit both online or in person. It uh, helps getting a lot better jobs & have people take you more seriously, tbh. I say this as someone who used to swear way too ****ing (lol) much due to the people I'd hang around with, & that made it hard for me to get a job because I'd slip up!

But whatever, I'm not your dad.

Jerry Seinfield even said that being a Clean Comic is better, because you get more exposure, jobs, and ability to be in things. I agree with him, a lot of people have seen his series, but not everyone, especially younger crowds have seen Eddie Murphy's most expletive induced sets.

Yeah, I agree- or it's at least something I have learned doing both answering service jobs & hotel & arcade work (children+parents). It makes you look better, plain & simple. More money, more friends, less upset people. I guess it's less of an issue online, but I'm not sure why you'd wanna cuss so much since, especially online, I think it makes people take you less seriously? Suppose it depends on the group. I look very young IRL so it does me no favors to have a potty mouth & make guests think I am even younger than I actually am at work, at least.

I don't think that'd look good on us as a site if parents knew kids could just turn off everything like that, as I am fairly certain it's in place to curtail abuse & flaming (on that note, do we even have parental controls in that case? So, good it exists imo). Imagine if Pokemon dot com allowed that, ahaha. Would not be great, even if we're not official like that.

Anyway. You're not missing much of anything by not being able to read someone saying poo-poo & such.
