Hmm, true, that does happen to like every other new member.
Yup also happens with some us oldies but meh.

Accounts are already deleted if they're inactive and lack a certain number of posts.
That's all well and good but say you have a 1000 posts under your name and then leave the forum for good and actually never come back thats a 1000 posts cluttering the forum, or as you've said what if they come back? Some people change a great deal in a short time and maybe they don't like what they used to post? I think a clean break is better overall.

I'm not saying delete the account if they've been gone for 6 weeks or so but 2 years, if you ain't coming back after 2 years chances are high you aren't coming back period.

Is there anyway to remove people who don't use the forums any longer (i speak of people not on for 2 years or more)
Occasionally Mases will prune inactive accounts like that. I have never been a huge fan of that since I will sometimes revisit old forums I have not been to in a couple years. And we have had a few come back after several years and become active again. It does not happen very often but it still happens. I tend to think it is better to leave them in case they ever do return.

Except maybe 2+ year old accounts with zero posts, those I think can go.

Fair enough then ^^, in case anyone is wondering where this entire query came from, it came from that section on the right on main page called birthdays i always notice alot of inactives there. But i am glad that something gets done ^^

Adding on to what I said before about the custom profanity filter, would you maybe consider allowing the users to add their own substitutions to the censored words. Like instead of **** when some thing is there, they could put in a substitution instead?

I'm not entirely sure that this will be doable on XenForo. Even having an optional censor was one of the reasons why we switched to it. So it's not a common feature and there isn't much being looked into for expanding it further than that. I even tried looking for browser addons to do it as another option and none of them were reliable. Some that looked promising were abandoned by their authors and no longer work.

Best I can suggest is that you PM some one of the mods the words you feel are making you uncomfortable and they'll look into it and decide if they should add it to forum's main profanity filter. And I don't think it'd be possible for every single person to have custom substitutions. It can only be for everyone.

I remember asking Kitsu and Rep this and I don't think it was exactly possible, either that or it was just bad.
I spent a few minutes looking and I couldn't find any. Looked through the entire User's and Profiles list manually, 234 addons in it, and still didn't see anything. So if it is something we really wanted it could still be done but we'd have to do it ourselves and that is not easy. You'd have to know the programming language and be familiar with Zenforo's coding.

I did find this though:
https://xenforo.com/community/resources/profile-cover.2782/
It kind of serves the same function as the glitch or whatever it is that people have been using.

Also found a few other profile stuff:
https://xenforo.com/community/resources/gamer-profiles-pixelexit-com.3678/
I know we use the custom fields already, but this is a bit more complex with a few more features.

And here's one for users to rename themselves, with configurable restrictions, which I think has been asked before:
https://xenforo.com/community/resources/username-change-by-siropu.4144/

This too, I don't know if we want it or anything but I thought it'd be funny to mention it since it uses an avatar in the same style as mine:
https://xenforo.com/community/resources/special-avatar-for-banned-members.811/

This one is pretty self-explanatory:
https://xenforo.com/community/resources/user-banners-on-member-cards.2014/

dunno if any of them are really necessary, but I thought they were somewhat interesting so I thought I'd mention them.

I think I suggested before but is it possible to bring back reputation? I know on the old forum software reputation was displayed by the number of hearts you had under your name. I think if people could see it, it might encourage better posts as gaining more hearts would be something to strive for.

I dunno. The only positive thing you can get out of it is served by the like system. We removed the reputation system in the first place because it was getting very, very badly abused. People were giving constant negative reputation to people they simply didn't like, negative rep for disagreeing with someone's opinion regardless of the quality of the post. All sorts of shady nonsense. Really you should only negative rep when something rather rude or immature is done that's not explicitly against the rules and that's it. But that's very subjective. Short of that positive approval should be thinking the post was well made but it also even get abused for giving weight to insulting posts, which has been used a lot in the like system too unfortunately. It's drama-bait, no getting around it.

Well here is the thing, a lot of these features are no longer available to download because they are exploiting glitches and stuff. Changing your own username isn't something I think the staff would want to promote, that is why the description of how to do it menetions “do this in an incognito tab, don't post too often, etc...”

The only thing we did in the past which isn't really a big deal is custom userbanners, a lot of us did it at one point with VBulletin.
