Naming Pets After Characters

I had 3 dogs in my life which I've named, unfortunately none of them are still with me. The first was named Raven (Poe), Thorin (Tolkien), and Sam (Tolkien). A lot of names I've considered for a future pet (because I can't have my own right now living in student housing) are based on characters I like or in general nerdily inspired. For instance, a Rowling and Monty Python inspired set I adore is for a black dog - Nox - and for a white dog - Lumos. For Python it'd be Bolton and Notlob.. but they'd have to look like mirrored images of each other. ;)

Since Sam died (about 2 months ago), I'm inclined to follow the Tolkien theme.. plenty of hobbits and dwarves to name a pup after!

Sadly, I've never had any pets other than fish, & that was before I knew that there were Anime or different languages or The Legend of Zelda. I hated fish, so I just named them Cheep-Cheep, Magikarp, & Zufish (from one of the most annoying pokemon, Zubat)

I have a fish named Cheep-Cheep, and a cat named Poe.

My two favorite enemies of Nintendo.
Those two lines rhymed.

I named my cat Hurley after the character on Lost. Because Lost is awesome. And the actor who plays Hurley is humongous and my kitten was the runt of the litter. So... it was ironic.
