From the song Mrs Potato Head by Melanie Martinez.

"Is it true that pain is beauty?"

I think it's the most meaningful lyric because the song is about how society now puts pressure on people to be skinny or so called "perfect". That lyric shows that beauty can be painful if it's caused by specifically peer-pressure.

"The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had"

Tears for Fears - Mad World

Those lyrics have always haunted me. Theyre deep yet they go by so fast in the song as if they were inconsequential

"What doesn't kill you makes you wish you were dead." - Bring Me The Horizon - Drown

It's a very depressing line for a song about fighting through pain and loneliness by yourself. It's also very relatable. Life tries to bring you down and you wish things would just end. The chorus "Who will fix me now, Dive in when I'm down? Save me from myself. Don't let me drown." fits with this line (which is the first line from the song). Life brings you down, you want it to end, you seek out someone to help you, but in reality no one can help you. Only you are able to help yourself fight through depression, pain, and/or loneliness.

That's just my interpretation though.

"They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool" from 'Working Class Hero' by John Lennon.

The entire song to me is relatable coming from the background I do come from. But I think lots of people can relate to that line in life. If you're smart, they hate it because they want to feel superior but they'll vilify an idiot. It's just the way it is in society.

If you've done nothing wrong
You've got nothing to fear
If you've something to hide
You shouldn't even be here

Integral - Pet Shop Boys

The lyrics are political. The whole song is political. These lyrics are so true though. The only ones who are scared are the ones who have too many corrupt skeletons in their closet created during theing their rimes as elected public officials.

"So scared of getting older
I'm only good at being young
So I play the numbers game
To find a way to say that life has just begun"
- John Mayer

I guess it's just a relevant concept in general. The song is called 'Stop this Train' and is centred around John stressing about how quickly time passes and he's scared of growing up and losing those he loves. It's something everyone experiences who grows up at whatever age. He then comes to the realisation, from speaking to his dad, that you can't stop time and you can only enjoy the moments. It's just a really hard hitting real lyric.

Oh, you ain't getting no younger
Your pain and your hunger are driving you home
And freedom? Oh, freedom? Well that's just some people talk'n
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losing all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado
Why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences
Open the gate
It may be raining
But there's a rainbow above you
You'd better let somebody love you before it's too late

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead

Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow
