Tech Help Minecraft Java Allocation Help?

Hi I have bought minecraft and it works......for five minutes before crashing from lack of java:S. So I downloaded the latest java and now when I hit f3 it says i have 50% allocated java so how much do I need and how do I allocate it?>.> By the way Im a noob at this so please try not to get way to technical please.( in other words, Im not this with computers --nerd

Well, I'm assuming you're referring to memory allocation. Do you have a 32bit or 64bit OS? Also, how much RAM do you have?

If you have a 64bit OS you may want to allocate more memory, depending on your system and how much free memory you typically have, as well as physically have.
