Midna- One Time Thing or Continous Character?

God, I hope I put this thread in the right place....>.<;

Anywho...

I have to say that Midna has to be one of my all-time favorite LoZ character's. It would be such a pity if Nintendo got us so hyped up about her, and then suddenly just dropped her. She had a good role in Twilight Princess and I would like to see her have some type of GOOD role in the next game.

But that makes you think. What role WOULD she have. If you finished Twilight Princess, you'll understand. And I don't want to see her put in for the sake of it, and it to be terrible.

From what I see, Nintendo doesn't have a lot to still have her do. She'd be almost pointless. But I could be wrong. Who know's what they have up there sleeve?

Discuss, Share idea's, etc.

Well, as of now it seems like Midna is gone for good, which is sad because I agree with you that she's one of the best Zelda characters to date. She's one of the few that actually have an identifiable personality.

I would say that she'd make an appearance assuming there was some sort of direct sequel but... I don't know. The way TP ended made it seem like there's absolutely no way she would ever be back.

It would be cool to see her make some sort of cameo appearance with a different Link, either before or after TP chronologically. If she was to appear in a game that happened chronologically before TP it would probably be a lot easier to explain.

However, no matter what the case I don't think she should come back in a role as important as the one she has in TP. That would just be uninventive, and lazy.

I think this belongs in Future Zelda, but putting it here is an easy mistake.

I haven't actually played TP, but from what I've read about the game (and I've read a lot,) it does sound like the climax of the game was pretty final.

However, someone at Nintendo (not sure who,) did state that if people wanted Midna to come back bad enough, they'd have to bring her back. So who knows?

I was never a fan of Midna myself. I think that she was a well-developed character, and played her part. It would be overdoing it if she made a return, though. It would almost be a little too light-hearted, if you know what I mean.

I guess I just really don't see a way she could return without a dejavu. Assuming she had a good role.

I'm a big Midna fan,but I really don't see her coming back.
The problem is if she came back what would her role be?
I also thought that her goodbye at the end of TP was a very powerful moment for her character, and if she comes back then that moment is pointless.
I think that if Midna does return then she should probably have her own game then.

im pretty sure Midna is gone forever. there are few characters that stick with the Zelda series and those that do are ones that have been around since the beginning or near the beginning. Midna went back to the twilight realm and destroyed the mirror which is the ONLY way to and from the twilight realm.

Sadly I agree that Midna is gone for good. She was also one of my favorite characters and I noticed a love interest ( or so I thought) between Link and Midna.
If she is going to be in the next one then I hope that it is an important role or they shouldn't put her in it. Goodbye Midna.

As I see things this is actually the important question to ask. To give her a minor role in a sequel would not seem wright, she deserves more the that!

Midna went back to the twilight realm and destroyed the mirror which is the ONLY way to and from the twilight realm.

Logically this is also a huge problem! But as I see it they will always find a way to get her back if that is what they desire (the developers).

So what do I think? Will she be back? Somehow I get that feeling but of course I can not know. I would not mind seeing her again, but she must be an important character in the game if she ever gets back.

Oh, thank you.=]

Really? That'd be interesting. A gaming company that ACTUALLY listens to there fans! Well, we are the ones who actually BUY the games.
Could you provide a source to where you found this? I'd like to see if this is legit, if possible...

Exactly. There is almost no possible way for her to return. Unless the relic's can fix the mirror or something rather stupid like that.... And yes, It was a powerful moment, and if she DID return, I'd most likely just be pointless, and make it feel all lazy.

Her own game? I believe that's taking it to far. I like her, but I can only see her teaming up with Link in the ZELDA universe. If she had her own game, she'd most likely turn out like poor Shadow the Hedgehog, or even Cynder the Dragon.

Yes, I liked Midna quite a lot. She was a cool little imp, and gave good advice too. However, I really would dislike it if she returned in a future game. It would totally ruin the ending of TP, which would be terrible in my opinion.

I even liked imp Midna more than her true form, and if she returned I have no doubt she would not be an imp.

I don't see her returning -in fact, I don't even see a TP sequel ever happening- but if she did, it would never be as good as in TP. I say just leave her be; she had her big moment.

Personally, I thought Midna was over-developed in TP. She seemed more like the main character, with link as her shape shifting sidekick. Maybe I'm old fashion, but I would have liked to see it the other way around.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of Link having sidekicks. They add an interesting dimension to the game, sure they have programmed responses when you talk to them, but it's nice not to be alone on your journey to becoming a hero. Navi is my favorite because while I know people complain about her "heys" and "listens" really she's one of the least intrusive and most helpful sidekicks he's had.

Midna's pretty much played out her role, which if she did make a comeback might be a good thing. She wouldn't be wandering around with an alternative motive... hopefully.

So my stand on the topic is: I really like Links fairy companions far more than I liked Midna. But long as she wasn't dragging you around hyrule by your little pointy ear throughout the whole game again, I wouldn't entirely mind a comeback from her. :P

Like I said, bringing her back for a future Zelda title would ruin TP completely.

Bringing her back for a "prequel" game (as in: not the same Link) and giving her more of a recurring cameo than a major role would be ideal. Kind of like how Zelda has been portrayed in every game, excluding the ones where she's constantly in the guise of an alter ego.

Oh snap. What if they made a game about Shadow Link, or a Twili equivalent of Link and a Twili equivalent of Ganondorf? I'd so play that.

Zant used Ganon's powers to go back and forth between Hyrule and the Twilight realm.

Zant used Ganon's powers to go back and forth between Hyrule and the Twilight realm.

If that was true, why couldn't Ganondorf just use his powers to get out of the Twilight Realm in the first place. My guess is there probably is another way between the Twilight Realm and Hyrule, that only Twili can access. Much like the wall of twilight that Link could only get into with assistance from a Twili creature.
